  1. How do you guys who profitably play 8+ tables at a time apply ICM so successfully, when its so dependent on observing opponents closely so as to determine ranges. I've recently moved from playing mostly MTT's to playing SNG's (was hating the variance) and after having a little success on full tilt and party moved to pokerstars and started playing 8 tables at a time at the $16 and $27 levels.....big mistake. After about 500 or 600 games I am down $1k, and this is certainly down to playing too many tables at once (therefore missing +ev pushes, making -ev calls due to the pace of things etc). If you are wondering why I stuck it out playing this many tables for so long, while losing money, I really wanted to be sure I wasnt just on a downswing. Do you tend to develep model ranges for the average player at a particular level, and apply ICM according to them or do you guys just have superbrains and adapt pushing/ calling ranges for each of the 72 players :p ?

  2. Also, little question on the side-

has sharkscope stopped tracking party SNG results? Because mine hasnt changed for about a year....

  3. good question. i usually play lower buy ins when i run sngs, and I usually just try and play a more general style of shove/fold rather than have a guy pegged so bad that I can call an all in with 10 high and things like that
  4. Once you play more you definitely get used to it. I think you're giving too much weight to being able to assign specific ranges to each and every opponent. We aren't machines. We have ranges for certain types of players and go with it. Your reads will never be perfect for everyone, but as long as you do your best to pay attention to the way your tables are playing and review your hands after sessions you'll figure it out. Start with less tables till you're beating the game consistently then move up gradually.
  5. I multi table some lower buyin sng's and once u get over 7-8 tables, it's just a basic shove/fold, stack size, making the +EV play. Helps having all the regs noted to get a better range on them. If your just on a downswing just lose a few tables and tough it out.
  6. Well to make myself feel better, Ive gone back to 4/5 tabling $11 turbos on party. Downswings dont exist there lol

i don't know if changing to SnG's will do a lot for you in that regard... downswings are long and terrible, and if you're not used to SnG's, the downswings will be even longer as you don't know how to play them as well as MTT's.
  8. Go back to playing MTT's imo.

As someone else said your putting way to much emphasis on assigning ranges. Just know your shoves, and understand good SnG strategy. Mix a little ICM in there and you'll do fine.
