  1. Is it easier to win consistantly in MTTs that have 120 skilled players (i.e. 109r), or to win $10 or $20 MTTS with 1300 less skilled players? When I say "win", Im not necessarily talking about 1st place. Im just talking about winning money overall.

Like top 5 in $10 and $20 versus final tabling 109r.

EDIT: CHNGING THE NAME OF THE THREAD FROM "QUESTION FOR ANYBODY RANKED IN THE TOP 20 P5s RANKINGS" TO "QUESTION FOR ANYBODY RANKED"...WAY TO CONTROVERSIAL....LOL
  2. $10's and $20's....... im not top 20 but i feel the top 20,000 should have a say as well. ;/

  3. ^^ what he said for sure

you dont have to be ranked to know that
  4. Any low level donk could tell you the $10s are easier than the $100s.

It's marginal play vs. top-notch play.
  5. I always like the analogy of bar fighting in this case.

In the 10s and 20s its like being in bar fight with 10 Richard Simmons at once.

In the higher buy ins its like there is a line of the best fighters around, and you're taking them mostly one on one. They include Mike Tyson in his prime, Ali in his prime, and so on. Throw in a UFC fighter if you want. They're waiting in line to kick your ass.

I personally think it would be easier to take on 10 Richard Simmons at this point in my skill level. As I get better, however, I'll fight against the better fighters for more money.

I guess the moral of the story is, beat up Richard Simmons.
  6. Great visual.
  7. How come I really don't see a difference?

In the $20s you get 2-3 good players at your table

At a standard 100 tournament on party you get the same thing...

The 109 rebuy is a special circumstance though.

  8. in terms of ROI, $10 and $20 are way easier. In terms of making the final table of the 100r vs making the final table (or top 5) of a 1k person $10 tourney, the 109r is WAY easier

  9. well....i preciate ur input, but Im leaning in the opposite direction. Thats why I want to hear from top notch players.

The reason for my thinking, is that most people, even pros, sit back and "nut peddle"....They play premium hands, or they tangle with the short stacks with marginal hands. Either level, you have to catch cards, but I would like my chances winning against any 120 players, versus 1300.

Also, the better player recognize top plays...a low level donk thinks a check raise means that you missed your hand, but then shove trying to scare eveyone off. Therefore, you cant bluff a donk, but you can pull a couple of fancy plays on a pro.

    Just a thought,

  10. EXACTLY!!! I knew it...you have to put up more to buy in, but you will make more money, but not necessarily have a better ROI.

  11. When you posted this you should've put...Question for anybody who agrees with me.

  12. not really...i only care about what top players think. Not low level donks like myself. I know my opinion, but i want to hear from someone who really knows about this topic.

  13. I kinda agree with you on this one.. For alot of reasons, 1 simply the numbers.. I dont care how good you are. Its harder to beat 1300 people than 100 people. Look at the WSOP ME this year.. Only 1 top pro made it to FT.
  14. They asked this same Question to every pro that stopped by the booth at the PPV last night in the main. And everyone had the same answer that it was harder to beat the field of 8700 of pure mixed skills than 10 years ago when you had to beat 100 pros.
  15. 109s on party are soft, i ask myself alot of times where the fuck do some of these people keep getting their money from to be playing 100$ tourneys

  16. yeah...thats what sparked my interest...I guess i need a bigger roll to make any real money. I finshed 3rd in a $10 MTT (1300 players) and 6th in a $20 MTT (550 players), but havent made a FT since. That was a week ago. I've been playing good, but if I lose to another 2 outer im going to commit myself to a mental institute.

2 more decent cashed in these low level MTTs, and I may give a couple of big buyins a go. Who knows...

Also, you can take down a 109r in like 4 hours...versus like 3 days in a 3.30r on stars

  17. yeah, but party cant even keep a tourney going for more than an hour. F party, their infrastructure sucks. Ill never play there again

  22. No, that's not what funkii was saying at all. Do you think everyone who plays the 109R's makes money? The truth is, very very few of them do. Many winning online tourney players stay away from the 100 rebuys because they're so hard to beat.

In 1000 person tournaments, there is a lot more room for winners. Funkii was saying that you'll make the final table more often in a 120 person tournament than in a 1000 person tournament. Just because you make the final table more often doesn't mean you're gonna make more money, or make money at all. If you're a patient, solid tournament player, even without getting particularly creative, it's pretty easy to make consistent money in the $10 and $20 tournaments online.

  23. gfy
i wont answer due to your 'title'
    i dont qualify at 28
    have a nice day

  24. and himself
  25. BTW: if i played 'to cash' IMO i would cash in 90% or HIGHER of freezeout tournies $20 and lower. Same thing cannott be done in the 55 and 109 rebuys

  26. lyttlemoney u know some of the top twenty are actually losing players. I hope you understand that next time you call them out to help you
  27. Who are the losing players?
  28. I couldn't help but laugh that someone said "top notch play" in the $100 buys. HAHAHA.

  29. 90% is a bold statement
  30. SOmeone comes up with enough $ to make it worth my while....ill do a contest to prove it with an over/under of say 60% cashing.......
i HATE anything under $150 buy in so it REALLY needs to be worth my while
