ok i was playing 1-2 nl on bodog last nite. I had 210. I get dealt QQ. The guy who i beat out of a decent pot previous hand was in semi early posistion. He bet(he had around 110) 10. I raised to 25, thinking he was steaming from the last pot and could have 1010 or a big ace at the best. And wanted to isolate him. The guy behind me(who had around 200) calls and then the first guy rasies all in for 78 more. I think and decide to trust my read and call, leaving me with around 108. Then the guy behind me rerasies all in. Now the pot is a little over 400 i have alittle over 100 to call. I know one of these guys has an over pair to my queens. Thus making me a 4-1 dog. I am getting the right odds to call, so i do. The intial raiser (who i thought was on tilt had AA, bad read by me) the guy behind me had KK. So AA holds and thats that. So i knew i was getting the right odds but stil it was hard to swallow. Did i make the right move or do i lay it down knowing i am beat? If i can pick the mistake that i made it was not folding after the first guy went all in. any comments are welcomed

Very very tough. I am pretty sure I would have done the same thing.

Ya, ya..Im a pussy, blah blah blah....I fold. What really scares me is the guy in position smooth calling. He has a raise and a reraise in front of him and he SMOOTH CALLS??!! He definitly has AA or KK...so when the other guy goes all in, I fold...not neccissarily because of the first player to act, but because of the smooth caller behind me.

Hey JB , this hand is a tough one . The only mistake , and I wouldn't classify it as a mistake even , was just calling the initial raiser $78 more . At that point in the hand , you've got to know that by calling the additional raise , your committing yourself to the pot . Since you are now committed , why not go all-in yourself right there to shut out the other player . Obviously , the other player wasn't going anywhere on this one -- but in similar hands a move like this will get out the AQ's , AJ's , 66 , 55 , etc from the other player . Even though it wouldn't of worked this hand , you'll see the benefits in the long run.
Hope this helps. -
thx guys i felt like it was right for a cash game but not a tourny. other perspectives are still wanted, need to see it form all angles.....thx again

If you are sure that one of them has an overpair, then you are no longer getting 4-1. Ie, if one guy has kings and the other has AQ, then you're in worse shape than that. I didn't put it in a calculator, but you have to assume even the weaker of the two has overcards. And he may hold one of your queens ....yuck.

Right ........ this is not an automatic call by any means . My point was that if you are gonna go forward with the hand .... you might as well shut out the other player ( at least the majority of the time this will accomplish that ) by moving in and trying to get heads up.
