  1. So I'm dealing a weekly game in NYC starting Thursday. 5/5 and 5/10 NLHE. The woman running the game isn't taking a rake or time charge for the moment. She will be selling food and drinks and dealing as well.

The issue is that since she isn't raking, she wants a percentage of my tips to compensate. I'd like to know if this is commonplace, and if so, what percentage I should negotiate. I think it will be a pretty lucrative gig, so I don't want to turn it down because of this, but I also don't want to get cheated.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    kthxbye
  2. you should suggest to her that since she serves food/drink that she can legally charge rake/time up until the proceeds have covered her cost for food and drink.
  3. It is becoming very common for the house to take a % of dealers tips. Massage girls and waitress' tips as well. If you give up 20% your right at the avg. Some places charge a flat rate ie: $25-$30 a night. Assuming you'll be grossing $300-$400 or more a night, 20% is fair.. all of the above assumes you'll be in and out every half hour.. A 2 game 3 dealer rotation should add about 20-30% to my assumed gross. And if you deal str8 thru, you can double that (most players hate this). Obv. try get away with 10 or 15% tho..

in NY city private games, avg, "time" for 5/5NL is $7 a half... MIN. $8 a half for 5/10NL.. and tbh, most places rake b/c they want more than that..
