This is the thing most people forget.. When people are seeing other people winning all the time, it looks like they have absurd's amount of money and there BR's must be huge.. But playing such high volume also makes sure you invest a lot of money -> as a result you need to win a lot per day before you actually start making some money.

What I'm getting at is how many they play a day is strictly a variance thing, if your wondering why your BR isn't growing fast enough it could also be your ABI\ROI
For example. Yday I won the $75ko, FT'd a couple of $75 45man SNGs and won 2 turbo STTs and got 2nd in another one. In total I cashed for ~$7-8K.. However, I invested for almost $5K. So ended up with only $2.5K profit. I'm saying only, because the next day I'll play for another $3-5K and if I don't cash that day, I'm down $500...
Still one thing.
I'm still not sure what's optimal.. Play EVERYTHING with good value ($3r, DFG etc) and all high stakes tough MTT stuff ($55r, $100r, $163fo's etc.) or just focus on high stakes stuff alone...
I don't know. It sucks to play for 8 hours in the DFG and get 11th for peanuts. But once deep in those MTTs, you can easily get good scores. However.. More focus in higher stakes also has it's benefits. -
My junk just shrunk up inside me looking at the numbers you guys are throwing around....I feel so inadequate!!!! :-)

since i started playing stars i play about 20 Mtts a day w/ Mtt sngs. registering from 6pm-11:30pm
sunday 12pm - 6pm. -
I agree. lol this makes me want to play for one whole day registering for every micro
Tourny imaginable. I bet I would only get like 3 min cashes though lol -
Think more positive than that dude! Sure there are going to be aweful bad beats like we discussed in PM's but if you play at least 20 today, I would imagine you would get pretty deep in one or two of them.

I guess reading all this I have to keep in mind that I am still working a cube job from 7-7 five days a week. I'm already a bit limited to UB/Bodog because of field sizes and even those are running 5-6 hours with 2-300 entries. Pretty impressive stats all around guys. Might need to take a few days of vacation and see what grinding a full schedule is like.

I just looked at my numbers:
I lost my job on April 2008, that's 28 months ago.
I've played over 29.000 tourneys ever since.
Considering I normally play 5 days a week, and that overall I took about 2 months off, that'd mean I've played 560 days, give or take.
That's an average of almost 52 tourneys a day when I play. I'm sure "Crazyhorse", "Blueberleez", etc, put at least 1/3 more volume than I do. -
i prolly play a lil less (per day) than some regs as i dont like going over 12 tables. I am reg'd for 24 today which seems to be about normal for me
-
You've been at every goddamn table of mine lately...seemingly always one or two to my left, too. WTF.

I play long sessions 3-4 days a week generally instead of playing 8 hours 5 or 6 days. Seems to work out best for me and my schedule.
To answer the question, though...I'm kind of on Deoxy's level. I play, honestly, 0-7 days a week, 20-80 tourneys a day...I guess my average this year has been 5 days a week of around 30 mtts per day. -
16-20 is a huge volume day for me and all I do is play mtts (no sngs and very little cash).
it is still hard for me to grasp how these guys put in so much volume and this is what I now do for a living...

If I get over 6 on my laptop I get all fked up. Twice today missed the add on b/c of it. Some of these numbers are just ridiculous.

And a good setup is everything. I wouldn't be able to play a lot of tables without having two extra screens on my laptop -
Threads like these get me motivated to go play more pokies... thus donating more money to you guys. Now I understand why you post. Its brilliant!!

I know some pro's who only play a few tables when they are in the major's on sunday or the big mtt's on mon\tue but for the most part they play 12+ tables trending to the high teens.

ahh see I thought i was the only one having that problem... once I got over 12 I was missing hands from lag. So I replace cpu\router (mainly cause I wanted to) and started splitting time between stars\ftp so now I only have max of 10 running at each site and haven't had any problems with lag since. It does take a little more organizing but I've heard great things about tableninja (auto "I'm back" feature\table management) so I'm going to give the trial a shot this weekend. I'm not terribly upset about missing a hand here and there cause playing a ton of tables you have to figure that will happen now and then but when I'm sitting out for a half our because I dont realize it I'm not happy.Originally Posted by iPlayTourneys

TN is the nuts!.. i only play on a mac and hate windows.

A full volume day for me is about 40 tourns spread over about 6 hours of registration. Lately I just register like 12-4pm or 2-5pm, just because I'm not enjoying playing that much. I've probably averaged < 3 days per week this year for the same reason.

56 MTTs today.. registering from 12am until 7pm.. Getting a little crazy w/all the screens though and I notice I spew a little bit more... so watch out tables.. :)
-
It varies... I still can't discipline myself to play a given amount of days a week and start at a given time. But I like it when 7pm rolls around on pokerstars because by 8:30pm I've got 15-20 MTTs going. That time period has the most scheduled low/mid stakes MTTs in any given 90-minute period of time during the day. When the day winds down I fill up otherwise wasted screen space with S&Gs.

I think there's a case to be made for playing fewer and focusing more (wasn't/isn't that what gboro advocates?) but I am sure the real regulars have analyzed it fully and have determined the lost per-table value from mega-tabling is more than offset by the extra chances to score.
I know some very successful regulars who only play like 10 a day, more on Sunday, and do other stuff (cash, SNGs) if they bust unusually fast. Some people just don't have time to play that kind of insane slate. More power to you if you can. (Stay single and childless)
I am feeling better about even having a ranking given that my weekly average volume is something close to mement's daily average. You guys are sickos. -
unreal volume!
