This play is pretty standard to me but it just may be a leak that I'm overlooking that I should be concentrating on plugging.
A bit of background, I play 6-max $10 SNG's, top 3 get paid. I like to think that I subscribe to the theory of make the money, then worry about finishing first.
I apologize ahead of time that I don't have hand history but it goes something like this:
4 left. Co-chip leaders had approximately $3500
I had approximately $1300
Small stack had approximately $700
UTG I shoved with QQ. Co-chip leader behind me called, small stack on the button folded and the other co-chip leader called.
Flop: K J J
Now of course one of them had AK and the other AJ so the pot grew nicely. The turn and river were both dead cards that had no impact and I got the boot. GG me.
My question is: being ITM, should I only play super tight and wait for small stack to bust or is this just unlucky me. I've chalked it up to just being unlucky in this instance.
What do you think? -
You were just unlucky in this instance.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear.
