OBV brag post that I know how to use excel.
Okay so I have it setup for myself with 3 tabs, MTT, SNG, Cash
I track basic info
event, buy-in, rake, total spent, entrants, place, pay-out, NET gain or Loss
Here's my question not technical related so i do not need an IT expert
So I played a $8.70 Turbo Sat for a $26 Token OBV Brag Post
Entered on my SNG sheet won token with Net gain to be determined later (when token used)
should I do that even or just chalk up the $17.30 Net gain via token?
Reason I ask is because I entered a $26 MTT with said token
Got knocked out so even though I entered with token I really only lost $8.70 in MTT.
How should I record this properly?
Net Minus 8.70 in SNG sheet and MTT (but that would not balance it out)
record net gain of token value $18.30 win even though not same as cash and not $T
then record lost lost $26 Token on MTT counting as -$26 loss towards MTT's or did I only really lose $8.70
I apologize if this post sounds confusing and i tried to speak english, only been trying to do that for 27 years.
Any help for proper recording purposes would be welcomed and appreciated.
Guess more I think about it.
SNG Net gain $18.30
MTT Lost $26????? -
I would guess there is no right or wrong way to record this, it would really matter is how you want to see your information.
Me personally, I like to have all of the information I can, so I can study it and find any other trends (or make some geeky graphs with my results).
My guess is that you should count this as 2 results. Mark a win in the $8.70 event for $26 token, and then a loss of the $26 in said event.
I think this is improtant since there is a chance that you might do well in some $26 events and not others, and if this is the case, you want that to jump out quickly to you.
So, I agree, net win in SNG, loss in the MTT. -
I record them and all sattys that I win in a SNG as SNG profit. If I then lose that satty or buyin to an MTT and lose then it is an MTT loss. It doesnt make sense to do it any other way, treat tokens just as you would real money.

I record the $26 as a win in the SNG (net +17.30).
I color (green/bold) the $26 of the winnings column on that Satty, and as the buy-in of the MTT.
(no real reason for that other than to visually see the tie-in between the two)
The MTT would then have a net -$26 for it.
This is only reasonable to me as I 'won' in the SNG, and I 'lost' in the MTT. Only trouble is if there is a long period between the sat win and its use ... but even then, not really. -
I used to classify the token tourneys as "MTT Sats" rather than lump them in with other SNGs. I'd record the net 17.30 as in the MTT Sat category. That way, I could keep track of how I was doing overall in the token tourneys (as well as being able to guage my results at normal SNGs separately).
I would then roll up the overall net for MTT Sats into my MTT numbers and count it when figuring my MTT ROI, as I considered any net profit in token tourneys as decreasing my overall buyin costs for MTTs.
