  1. say you opt to use a 40x buy-in requirment for whatever level it is you play. if you are a player who does not buy in for the maximum amount does that mean you need only 40x what you sit with or do you still need 40x the max buy in.

Ex. if you play 2-4nl and you always sit with $120 do you need $4800 or the full $16,000 to be using proper bankroll management?

    thoughts and comments appreciated.
  2. id say 40x 120..
honestly ive never encountered even a 20x buyin swing.. that is massive, i guess thats why its set at 40x recommended.. you freakn never hit it..

  3. I'd go 60x120, the bigger stacks will probably be a lot looser calling you since you'll be short, and you may need some x-tra buy-ins b/c of that.
  4. Since you're going to get busted with $120 at a 2/4 NL game more than you will a full $400, I'd say you need more than the 40x recommendation. You probably don't need the full $16k in your roll to play that game, but I'd make it 80x, or about $9600.

  5. This is a damn good question. I wish I knew the answer.
  6. yeh it can be argued the other way though, they can't make him fold as he isn't as committed.. (can't lose as much etc)

  8. I think it depends on the type of player you are. More convervative players I think could get away with what you're suggesting, but a very aggressive player would be better off with the 16k.

In any case I think its always best to opt for the more conservative strategy whenever you're talking bankroll management.
