Yesterday, I played at a local casino. They spread 5-5NL with the min/max buy-in at 100/300.
I bought in for 300 but I already felt I was at a disadvantage against the other big stacks. I dont know why they wont let you buy in for 100x the BB.
Early on, I was leaking chips when I raised with AK and was called by two limpers. I miss the flop and thought about c-betting but I couldnt because of the fact that I will have 30% of my chips in the pot with A high (considering my bet was called).
The game conditions made it worse for low stacks. There was alot of raising, limp-calling...there was no surprise if all the limpers called 1 raise. I felt there was really no room to play a hand.
I mean, is it smart to fold AK on a 9-5-9 board with 1/3 of your chips and the pot and 2/3 of your money behind in a 3 way pot?
What am I supposed to do under these game conditions? Tighten up, raise for value, value bet....? Or get in there and gamble cause the LAG big stacks usually do not fold?
I finally busted when I pushed 16x the BB preflop w/ JJ and a 2k stack calls with KJ. GG. It ended up being a winning trip but I was looking for any advice if I go back. Is this a good game to play in considering they only let you buy in for 60 BB's?
