Hello Brett,
First of all we would recommend that you check to make sure that you have no programs running in the background that may be using your bandwidth as they may cause issues.
If you are still experiencing connectivity issues after this has been checked, we'd be glad to help you figure out what the problem is.
We'll need some information about your system to investigate:
- What Operating system are you using?
- What type of Internet connection do you have?
- What Internet service provider are you using?
- Are you using a wireless Internet connection?
- Are you using a router?
- What security applications are you using (such as antivirus and firewall)?
- What other applications/programs are running while you are playing on Full Tilt Poker (poker tracking/statistic applications, if any)?
- How many tables do you usually have open?
Next, we would like you to run a traceroute (*done at the same time you encounter connectivity issues) and email it back to our Technical Department. The traceroute will help us determine why your connections to the server may be weak and target the source of the issue.
To generate and send a traceroute report, please follow these steps:
* If you are running Windows XP or versions prior to XP:
1) Click on "Start" and select "Run..."
2) Type "command".
3) Select "OK". This will bring up a "command prompt" window with a cursor blinking next to the ">" symbol.
* If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7:
1) Click on the Windows logo in the corner of your screen.
2) In the "Start Search" field, type "command".
3) Press the "Enter" key. This will bring up a "command prompt" window with a cursor blinking next to the ">" symbol.
After loading the command prompt window, just follow these five steps to complete the traceroute:
1) In the command prompt window type "tracert 91.211.96.7".
2) Press the "Enter" key. It may take a few minutes to generate the traceroute report.
3) When you see "Trace Complete" in the bottom of the command prompt window, right-click inside of the window and choose "Select all".
4) Press the "Enter" key to copy the command prompt text to the clipboard.
5) Reply to this email, and press "Ctrl" + "V" to paste the command prompt text into the body of your email.
Once we receive your traceroute report, we'll be able to determine the best way to assist you.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We're always happy to help.
Regards,
Jay

Or am i wrong? -
lol they're absurd.. i withdrew from everything and quit for the day.. i'm still in some stuff on ub and ftp, but i'm not gonna sit here disconnecting on and off for the next 5 hours while it dies midhand as i flop top set, etc.. they better refund my buyins at minimum if they want my future business. (ub too)

Sorry guys, it's not their servers. It's you. It's always you. It's never them. It happens to me every week and we have the same convo every time about how my AIM and other sites and porn and bitTorrent are still working, but not them, yet they send me a checklist of things on my computer and tell me there's no compensation because I've already gotten a one-time good faith compensation.
Fortunately I'm currently taking away the $1k+ in rake I pay them weekly until I get rakeback, so I seem to be done dealing with their crap. For now.
God stars, why did you leave WA and leave me in the clutches of these assclowns? Doug literally posts a thread every update then ignores all my questions about discrepancies about prices in tourney tickets and how they're making them more and more expensive, and he's actually the best they have by miles... -
happened to me last night for quite a while, couldn't even reconnect. Not playing today, but happening again. Also from Iowa.

I had many problems with FTP and disconnects. Over the course of a month I went back and forth with support trying many different things, working with Norton support, and my ISP support also trying to figure out the issue. Ultimately this is what we figured out the problem:
One the tracerts they noticed that at the beginning the first two were coming from private IP addresses. This is caused as my internet setup was a modem and then through a router (was using a netgear). I then switched to a wireless modem. This has fixed the problem and the past month I have had 0 problems with disconnects, when previous on FTP I would be getting disconnects several times an hour. Hope this helps. -
hate to break it to you guys...but it's not ftp's servers. me and several other people i talk to have played the past few weeks and had 0 problems with connecting to ftp. if it was their servers, people would be disconnected all over
the problem is most likely someone else's server in between your comp and ftp. it's clearly just related to ftp, since only ftp goes out...however ftp doesn't own whatever server is going out. your connection has to go through a lot of computers and servers before it gets to ftp
i hate ftp as much as the next person...but i hate to say it, but i think they're right in this instance...it's not their fault...
i would call your internet service provider and say you're experiencing outages on certain sites and see if they have any servers down or that they've been having problems with

Today was a lot of people though. Threads here PTP and 2+2 about it.

it makes no sense tho gags as to why every single other application on my computer works at 100% capability and ftps doesn't. its clearly somewhat ftp's fault isn't it?
-
It's not the players ISP and it's not a problem with FTP's servers.
The problem is with a router in between.
A month or so ago I was having the same frequent disconnect
with stars, emailed support and got the same bs generic email
response explaining how it wasn't their servers and an explanation
on how the internet works.
After sending several (8) different trace reports the problem was
located at a router in SE Asia. The next day the problem was corrected. -

the main problem is that the disconnects dont' effect everyone. also...it seems people in iowa are having the most consistent problems. the internet in iowa takes a different route to reach the full tilt servers than the internet in australia...surely you must understand this. if there is a problem with a server somewhere in between full titl's and the people in iowa...then people in iowa disconnect, and people elsewhere don't...ducy?
to come to some sort of solution...why don't you peopel that are having problems with ftp post where in the country/world you are...and waht internet service provider you're using -
From the threads I have read today Iowa, Georgia, North Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana and probably more but would have to go back and look. That seems like a pretty big group to me.
