  1. Annette's post re: pps in early-med position was sick. Thanks.

Annette do you (or any top player) have a similar system for ranges of hands you'll open a pot with deep in a MTT? I searched the forums and haven't seent anything worthwile. In watching lots of top players late in MTTs I've noticed their "well timed aggression" usually pays off quite nicely. How does your # of BBs relate to the blinde/ante level and to your opponents stack sizes, etc, when you open to steal? What other variables am I missing? I'm also assuming that the blindes and antes come into play more on FT than elsewhere...?

    Thanks!
  2. Oh god.... i cant write everything here... but very short:

When ur shortstacked, wait for a good spot to shove ur chips in... preferrably from late positon if possible and with playable hands, Dont openraise pots with less than 11-12x if u cant call a shove.

When ur between 15-20x try to look for spots to resteal instead of being the first one to open, because a lot of the time you'll be facing a reraise that u wont be able to call, and u dont wanna lose ur reraise fold equity by opening too many pots. So if u have any kind of hand and ur on the button, and a fairly aggressive player whos shown that he will fold to reraises, raises in the CO, this might be a good spot to shove ur chips in and hope he folds... but this all depends on ur reads and stacksizes, and i just cant go in depth on everything here because it would take hours and hours and hours.....

When ur 30x+ u wanna open up ur game a lot unless u have very big aggressive stacks or stations to ur left. Try to go after the shorter stacks as they will have a hard time calling raises without a hand, but make sure that ur not pot committed to calling with trash... if u should be unlucky enough to get caught, tighten up a bit and dont raise too much.

As u can see, I dont care about ranges for opening pots with, cuz ur cards only matters if u have to call raises/shoves, not when ur the one opening... its of course nice to have a good hand, but sometimes u just gotta take what u get and do the best out of it.
  3. I can't thank you enough, Annette! Great tips and reminders. Unfortunately I seem to need to be reminded of the basics from time to time (not getting pot committed w/ trash!) and this helps a ton!

Keep up with the fantastic posts, along with reading what you & a lot of other top players say P5s discussion board has been very helpful.

    PEACE

  6. AJK,

I actually laughed out loud reading this! I'm a little flattered but I think the well may be safe for now...I don't think my $8-$26 SnGs and MTTs are a threat to any of you!
