Been a while since I've looked at the site here. I apologize if there have already been a bunch of posts addressing the new rankings already. I think the new rankings are cool. I just finished reading the recent article on them and I saw that it relies on participation from players themselves ("pro pollers"), and Adam mentions that participation from players is paramount.

A good way to circumvent the potential problem of weekly participation from top players is to return the subjective part of the rankings to the hands of the P5s staff. Prior to this new system, the rankings system had its holes, but overall, was solid. Since such a good job was done prior to the new system, I don't see why the subjective part needs to change, unless the staff has grown tired of the task and wishes to put it on the players. Making the new system's subjective component up to the guys who ran the old system would be a good way to circumvent potential problems in consistent voting by players.
