  1. I consider the re-steal a way better way to accumulate blinds and antes instead of raising in LP to steal. It shows a ton of strength and puts all the other players chips at risk. Plus you don't have the image of a blind stealer. The only downside is when you run into a hand. Thoughts?

Keep doing it, see what happens.
  2. The only problem is when you run into a hand....
You must consider the fact that 90% of online players cant fold when they raise....ever.
They simply aren't capable of it.
  3. Has a lot to do with the play of the table as a whole and the individual player you are re-raising. I don't use it as much as I should...

But then again I play in the same tournies Jacob is talking about where no one is going to lay down 77 or A4 for all their chips once they raise.
  4. NO def. not the new play in poker slim thug, no one can lay a hand down these days... its just sickening unless ur some high stakes tourney... ship it slim thug ship that pot.
  5. IMO the other posters are exactly correct. Online play (and poker in general these days) has taken a turn toward a maniacal get all your chips in the pot ASAP crapshoot. Unless a guy has shown that he can fold to a re-raise then the move is all but pointless. Also, when you are sitting there thinking about a hand you have to realize that the other guy may not be thinking about it in the same way. I had a guy in a cash game call of all his money on the turn with nothing but a flush draw. The pot was roughly $300 and he had more than $400 left. He hit the flush on the river. After the hand I said, "what was that?" out of frustration and he said, "sorry, I was pot committed". So what you are basically looking at is a bunch of players that really dont understand chip stacks or survival at all. If a guy raises you and is left with 12xBB, to him that may mean that he is pot committed. If a guy has a huge stack he may think, "Im supposed to try to knock people out". I am not saying to play scared, but against these online crazies you have to go at them with somewhat of a hand. I have found that unless I know the player very well then going in on a read is just a bad idea. Even if you are dead on with your read he will probably still risk all his chips with nothing but low pair. So in the end, trying to steal with no hand usually leads to you watching from the rail. Only do it if you know the player to be solid. (Even then it can be insane what some of the "solid" players call with.)
