  2. This looks like a half assed attempt to steal the blinds and call a shove from JOSKATE if need be. With your fold equity, a similar stack to you in the BB (who folded I see), and him having to call leaving himself with 20k or so I shove 66 100% of the time here. gl

  3. i would rarely/never shove 66 here. most of the time you wont need to hit a set to win the pot, so i would call more often than not. you can take it from him on the flop, or if you happen to flop a set you can extract value.
  4. so your line looks like this ??

    call>reraise>fold

    thx for the reply

  5. yeah, i hate a fold here, nothin wrong with flatting
  6. Calling is def the worst option imo since a lot of the time you dont even get to see the flop when the short stack shoves and the other guy iso shoves or calls and you have to commit over 20% of your stack just to see a flop. Its hard without reads to say whether raising is better than folding, esp with my lack of any knowledge about the average 3r player but I probably just muck it unless you are on a bubble or something. Seems a little weak but its the line I dislike the least I think. Im probably making wrong assumptions about 3r players tho.
  7. Thx stevie

I thought folding here was the best option as well, pretty much for the same reasons u described above, figured 66 would only be good if i flopped a set, just thought i was commiting to many chips in a weak manner by calling,

appreciate u taking the time to check out my thread

  8. its looks like it is the stage in the tourny where you are near the bubble or already itm. with the stacks at your table its an ideal spot to "run the table" or at least "take control of the betting" in this hand. for these reasons plus your position and the SB stack size i would raise to 16-20k here. unless he 4 bets you win this hand most of the time either preflop or after the flop (a call by him oop is so weak that the flop has to hit him really hard for you not to win this hand postflop)

if he does 4-bet its almost never a bluff (especially in the 3r) and you have a great piece of info that he min-bets in LP with strong hands.

i dont like folding because you have a great situation to win a decent pot here. late in tournys situations > cards as far as acquiring chips is concerned.

  9. 3r players are very weak. you have no read. weak players like to min raise strong hands. even if hes just afraid to raise more and has a weak hand, the presence of the short stack is a problem. if shorty shoves and the pf min raiser reships u have to fold and are spewing chips. if shorty shoves and pf min raiser just calls ur getting odds to call (yet now like steve44 said ur putting 20% of ur stack in), but u can also reship with dead money in there. however pf min raise will be gettng close to 2:1 to call. if the raiser made it 2.5/3 times the bb id be more inclined to make a move on button to co raise, but with no read on a presumed weak players min raise id prolly just release the hand.

  10. Fold & wait for better situation (low stakes, semi-profitable opinion). But zpaceman much better player - listen to him. :)
  11. First option reraise to 18-20k, if he re-reraise you again, probably laydown the hand
Second, flat call and you play after the flop with position
    and last, laydown the hand
  12. Thx for the response Stu...

appears to be quite a bit of different trains of thought, from some very successful players on how to play this hand, wouldnt mind seeing a few more weigh in on this situation, B/c it is def. a situation that occurs and gets alot of players like myself in trouble, and I figured in this spot, 66 was just too weak. I felt like i needed ~88+ to 3x him, and be comfortable w/ him reshoving, How strong does my hand have to be here to call his shove?

This area in my game is where i need to improve for sure.
    any opinions greatly apprecciated

  13. reraise to about 18 to 20k, put the pressure on him, you probly have him beat.
