  1. The Background:

I was playing on UB today and I see a flop with 78. The flop brings 2 more spades, one of which is the ace. I bet out, he calls. I put him on a weak A.......THe turn blanks and I push for my remaining 1200. He calls with A2, I miss the river and he takes down the pot. I am out and he is going off on me about what a shitty play I made and he had me on a draw, he called me a moron, etc. etc, etc, etc..... (never considers calling 95% of his stack with A2 bad...lol)

This was a $50 satelite for entry to the $500 Aruba event tonight. There was only 1 prize to be awarded and 18 people left.

I already have an Aruba seat and have already won entry into tomorrow's 50 seat guarantee tourney for Aruba as well.

I decided to push because, had I won the pot, I would have been in 4th and in good position to maybe win the tourney. If I checked and or folded I was short stacked.....EITHER WAY the tourney was going to last another 2 hours and I felt my time was more valueble than sitting for 2 hours with zero return and it was only $50 to enter.

    SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-----

When playing poker, how do you factor in your ROT (return on time) vs ROI (return on Investment). Since I am not a full time pro and have another job, how would I equate the value of my time at the table. If I went to my job and only made $500 for the day, I would be pissed. Yet, I would like to win $500 a day at poker, since it is a hobby, not my career. I have a poker bankroll, but, I also have money I can access whenever I choose and don't consider my poker funds anything but entertainment. While I feel one can learn better play at any level of entry or tourney and I might not make the same move if the fee was $200 versus $50

So, how would I, or anyone for that matter, decide what time is worth at a poker table???????

I am intrested to hear your views on this.....thanks

  2. This should be in PD.

  3. I don't because I always play massive field donkaments with huge variance so if I did I would go insane, but what can I say, I love variance :)
  4. So, I don't want to read, "this should be in PD" please

what do u expect putting this in OT?
  5. lol................. I figure there to be at least 20 of those

and you to be one them...

When are we going back to Chip and Dales?

    lol
