And if it was possible to get away from?

  3. I'm only a break even player but I would call with a quickness. It looks like he's trying to steal to me. but^^^^^^^^^^ so maybe that's why.

wish I could offer more help but I suk apparently so whaddya do??

    Good luck,
    Larry
  4. Pre-flop: If you would have re-raised to 4200, you would have isolated yourself with Bull (assuming NUtz would have folded KJ for half of his stack, which is questionable at these limits). By calling, you're giving the bb 5:1 odds to call.

Flop: If it's checked to you in late position, I think you're making a mistake by not betting out. I'd bet around 2800 on the flop because the board is draw heavy. Plus it represents that you have an ace. Furthermore, if BullCrap c/r you, fold. If Nutz c/r, you have to call.

I think biggest mistake is not re-raising pre and not betting the flop.

edit: With the way you played it, It's hard not to call this river bet. I'd say the bet is a missed flush draw a good percentage of the time.
  5. I'm more afraid of the flush here than i am of the strait, but you can't fold for 3500 more when theres already over 12k in the pot. Just a very unfortunate river card for you, because almost any other card hits the board and you can get away from your hand : (.
  6. I think your problem started preflop and then worsened on the flop. You should have taken control of the hand preflop by putting in a reraise. By just flat calling here you have no idea of the strength of your opponents holdings, nor do you represent a strong hand yourself. Seat 6 only raised a little over double the big blind, a total weenie bet at this stage in the tournament. I would have reraised him around $3000 with the TT. If he calls so be it.

On the flop when he checked you should have bet out a little more than half the size of the pot, you have position use it. What's this check crap? Your check on the flop spelled your demise, it was completely worthless. You have to either take a stab and take down this pot or give up on the hand if he comes over the top of you. Certainly at this point there is no way you can put him on AQ, AK, AA, KK, QQ, or any other premium hand. Also, why are you giving your opponents a free card when there is a flush draw on the board? If he calls your raise preflop and your raise on the flop you should probably check the turn and just be done with the hand if he comes at you with a raise. What happened after the turn and then on the river is pointless, you shouldn't have let it get that far.
  7. re-raising to 3000 is worse than calling.
  8. How so? Maybe I am not getting the amounts accurately figured here or there was a misunderstanding, but here is where I am coming from. First there is $1350 in the pot before anyone takes action (I believe). Seat 6 throws out a bet for $1500 which is 2.5 times the size of the big blind. After he makes this raise it brings the pot to a total of $2850. I am saying reraise another $2500 to $3000 which would bring the pot to a total of $5850. How is this worse than calling? #1 it eliminates the odds the big blind has to call and will isolate the original raiser. #2 It represents a strong hand and shifts control. #3 more than likely donk head with KJ offsuit will fold his hand preflop, having only invested 10% of his stack, and the $2850 can be swept then and there. #4 If donk boy with KJ calls the extra raise he is making a huge mistake at this point. He would be investing an additional 30% of his stack with KJ and would be getting close to becoming pot committed.

Maybe you could enlighten me as to how reraising here is worse than just calling the weenie bet? Give examples instead of just throwing out general comments please. Maybe I could learn something from this discussion to.
  9. I thought you meant minraise to 3000, which would be pointless. Otherwise, your OP agreed with mine.
  10. Oh, ok cool. Ya a mini raise here would only sweeten the pot and make matters a whole lot worse. Same page now.
