Apparently Miramax is making Rounders 2. Let's hope for a whole new poker boom and a whole new sea of fishes :)
There's obviously a lot of pros coming from this but what do you think could be some of the cons? -

Rounders 1 didn't start a poker boom and I'd bet my bankroll the second one won't be nearly as good, so why would it start one?

Agreed, but think how many people haven't seen the first one yet. Ok not that many but still. I would think this movie would get a little something going.

I'll deffo watch it but like others, I doubt it will b as good as the 1st one. Will it even have Matt Damon in it? If so it should show him donking off $100k to Durrrr w/ a holding like T2o while screaming to Doyle "look at what I can do". -

Please do not make another lame poker movie. I'm tired of seeing cliche poker movies. It will be tough to compare to Rounders 1. When i first started playing poker, i would watch that movie in my car while driving to the casino. Fkn love worm. Such a degen.

Regardless, given how most states have B&M poker blocked out, it would mean online poker would have to be the key here. Unfortunately its way too to hard for the simple player to get money on/off. Especially the kind that would br influenced solely by a movie like this. -

Rounders 2 is said to mostly feature Matt Damon 12 tabling 10+hrs a day. Most of the movie dialogue will be in the chat box.

8 out of 10 Ed Norton movies are good... He made Rounders. If they get worm back, it will be good, but not good for poker by any means.

I don't know about a poker boom, but like the first one, I am sure I'll love watching the second. Just watching any kind of poker, wether it's any of the tv shows or rounders, I just get in the mood to play and more importantly, play better!
