I have honestly only played a handful of these but I'm starting to feel that any shove preflop is a big pair and that its much better to see a flop with hands like AK/Q, 1010/JJ. I was trying to play similar to the 90 ko's but it seems the play is much more TAG.
Is anyone grinding these successfully and what are the biggest challenges/oppurtunities? Thanks. -
I have only played 4.40's but they are fairly soft so this strategy works for me.
Early-I love to push with premium hands pre flop, because you get a ton of donk calls with a7 a8, etc. AA, KK, QQ, AK are the hands I'll push pre flop early. You are almost guaranteed to be ahead with one of these.
Once you double up early, play it like a reg turbo. The first 1/3 of the players will be out by the first 15 min, and then it becomes a 90 man sng. Pick your spots and be aggressive. Build up a stack in the 8-9k range and you can cruise.
When you get to about 30 players left, you should raise every hand in position, every battle of the blinds. Players fold a lot, especially if they want to make the money, which pays little anyway. You can build up a solid stack by being aggressive around the money bubble.
Once the money hits, be a little more conservative unless you pick up a good spot.
Final Table-Blinds will probably be very high, so pick good spots and be aggressive. If the cards fall your way, it can reap solid profit with high volume.
Hope this helps. -
Play premium hands early, and set mine with the weaker junk til about 25-30bbs, know your push/fold, and ummmmm rape? These things are by far the easiest things on the planet. If the RNG would stop raping after I get 3x starting stack to these wankers I'd prolly never lose....did I mention you can rape?

When you say every pot...I've been raising my cutoffs and buttons with ax+, k10+, 22+, etc. I'm curious how raising every pot works out, because one of the main reasons I use those hands is for the purpose of randomization and disguising play, but that aspect seems to be significantly marginalized in rush poker.

So with <30 players before the bubble are you literally raising every button and cutoff? -

Yes. If I have a solid stack, I three bet in position every time. 9/10 times you get a fold and build a stack through blinds and antes. -
sounds like horrible strategy

Yeah don't get overly carried away towards bubble because you are only playing 5-6 handed and see players quickly enough u can realize who is raising every single hand.

Thank you all, especially modest83 for taking the time to write out the mini article.
