I just saw a full tilt commercial for the "new exciting Rush poker". I know its been brought up especially when rush ring games started, but what effect are rush poker tournaments gonna have on what people want to play. Is it gonna draw ppl away from regular mtt's? People that often get bored with tournaments may be drawn to it, or people that don't like folding. Im just curious what everyone thinks is gonna come out of rush poker mtts, and also do you like/ dislike them, what are your overall thought on the idea

i dont like the idea. the game will become a turkey shoot.
part of the enjoyment of tournament poker is learning the habits of the players at your table and finding ways of exploiting them. rush is like playing two up. its a coin flip.
not for me -
fair point, you just wouldn't be able to get into a rhythm though.

Just my two cents, but I don't think the rush tourneys are going to have a bunch of MTT players converting over. These rush tourneys would be difficult to multi-table, esp. like 12 or 16, and they punish you for taking longer to play, since the SB and BB are determined by who has gone the longest (in time, not hands) without posting. I've played a couple, and like them if I only want to play one tourney, but if I'm doing any multi-tabling, I wouldn't want to play a bunch of these, or mix them with other non-rush MTT's. All of that being said, the lower level MTT's may initially lose some of the dead money of players who only play one tourney at a time, and would rather play a rush tourney then a regular MTT.
