  1. Two more to go out before the we get a 320 qualifier seat. Folded to me in SB, I push K2s.
    Bad or marginal push?

  2. Were there only 9 people left for 7 seats, or were there more tables?
  3. Depends on how many total seats and how many shorter stacks than you out there. My short is answer is bad push, you didn't need to play. Once you pushed though, the guy never should've called you.
  4. "The guy should never have called"??? Maybe so, but it's a seriously stupid way to approach this. You CANNOT count on people to have read the same books as you, nor should you assume anyone is going to play "sensible" poker.

It's a terrible push. K high with the weakest kicker in the deck? You should have released your SB and moved on. I can almost guarantee you the next hand dealt to you ON THE BUTTON would have been superior.

The BB's call with AJ is pretty standar here, all things considered. Your SB push range is so large (but should not have included K2), that he was almost certain to have 2 overs, if not dominating a weak A.

    Anyway...
  5. If this is the final table then the push is 100% fine. There is only one stack shorter than yours, so you are going to have to win a hand to get the seat anyways. K2 is a favorite over a random hand, and the player in the BB needs to have a really good hand to call all what is basically 2/3 of his stack. Your shove is fine, his call was retarded.
  6. uhhhhh... calling off more than 60% or your stack with AJ on the bubble in a satellite is standard?? Maybe for a moron. The call was HORRENDOUS.

Your logic is very flawed, sir. Firstly K2 is an ABOVE AVERAGE hand, therefore, the next hand he gets will most likely be WORSE than K2. Secondly, if he folds here and shoves the next hand he will have to get two people to fold. Worse than that is that the guy who will be in the BB the next hand has more than triple his stack and will be getting great odds to call with almost any 2 cards.

The fact of the matter here is that it is a shove with almost any 2 cards, the fact that he actually has a K in his hand makes it a trivially easy shove.
  7. yo, most people have no clue that they are supposed to play satelite with a different strategy then a regular tourney....yesterday i was in a $39 for a million seat and i open shoved a 13 BB stack with JJ and some MP limper decided to call me with 55 when it got back to him while he was sitting on only a 20 BB stack with 5 left til the bubble.......you know how this story ends unfortunately
  8. As has been stated, there is nothing standard about calling off 2/3 of your stack with AJ when you are virtually guaranteed a seat. How good the push was depends the additional details of the tourney. I know you're 2 from the bubble but how many seats total are awarded? If you are 2 off of a 45 man bubble with 15 stacks shorter than yours, then there is no reason to play this. I this is the final table, then its an easy push. Can the OP give us some more details?
  9. More details. Its the final table. 9 players left and 7 get a seat. There is only 1 player with a shorter stack than mine. So I had to outlast him and another player.

  10. Thanks for the opinions.

I figured that it was folded to me and as long as BB didnt have an A, K or pair I was happy and wanted to buy myself another orbit to get a good hand.

If I fold and dont get a pushable hand that orbit, with 8500 chips and 3000 BB I dont have any fold equity to pick up some blinds.
