  1. This is this guy's only play in lp. He did it last time it was folded to him on the button. Avg at the moment is 21K and top 8 get seat, there is about 30 left. Now, if this is a fold now, how tight or how loose does his shoving range have to be for me to call or fold here based on my satellite position.

  2. i think i would call here...

  3. i wouldnt..

  4. If you put him on ATC it's a bad call in a sat when you have a better than avg stack and 40+ BB's. If you had less than 10BB's and did not have your seat assured then call.
  5. No need to gamble here, he could easily wake up with JTsooooooooooooted....

You have an above avg stack. why gamble?

  6. easy fold, even if he had K3... he still has a chance to suck out. Why risk it?
if he had less than 8-9k maybe...
  7. If he has ATC this is definitely a call. Its if his range is something like top 30% and any pair, any A, any broadway, and good suited cards is it close, and I feel this might've been his range. Another thing to consider if its possible that he only open raises instead of open shoves for hands that are at the very top of his range like Js-As, and AK, making this call even more favorable.

My seat is far from guaranteed btw.

  8. call, high five monitor

  9. i would fold. i think youre racing most of the time here and it's not worth it yet.Id rather call w AJ , hoping to be a 60/40 or 70/30 favorite. I would only call because he did the same thing last orbit.
  10. Seems like an easy fold. No need to gamble for more then half your chips when you have an above average stack.
  11. fold
  12. if he has ATC, most likely he doesn't have just ATC. Rather, he prolly has at least one card above an 8, so if you're willing to risk 2/3 your stack on a 70/30 cuz you don't think you can find a better spot to pick up that many chips, then go ahead, call. However, your seat, which isn't guaranteed, obv, has a much better chance of being garnered with a stack of 30k than 12k, and so since you do have THE middle pair, it's up to you to decide if you're willing to risk the chance of it being a coin flip or not.

No way I ever make this call in a satty... but all things considered, i wouldn't beat myself up if i did call and was wrong.

My advice... pick a better spot. You're good enough.
  13. Pretty sure this is an easy fold in a Sat. Not 100% sure though.

  14. Basically my question is knwoing this is a sat and knowing my position in the satellite how much equity do I need vs his range to jusify a call? I suspect his range is about top 30% and Im ~55% vs his range - is that enough equity to make such a big pf call in a satellite?

I did fold btw but I suspect I was definitely a fave vs his range.

  15. when you say fave, what do you mean???????

sure you are probably a favorite, but by how much? how much do you want??

    this is absurd... screw it...
  16. It is not absurd to have a poker discussion about this hand. Most ppl have huge leaks in their sat play.

That being said this is a clear fold. Doesn't matter if you are a slight fav. I'd be tempted to fold even if I KNEW he was pushing ATC(which we obv can't know) because the tbl position/weak fields/chip stacks are so much in Atimos' favor here.

I'm not a math guy so I have no idea what exact range he would need for this to be a correct call, but I'm folding here 99.9% of the time.
  17. A better question, what's the calling range here? I think 88 is a marginal call here given the button shove and I would probably fold due to the size of the raise and the position in the sat. But if his range isn't ATC on the button with ~20 BBs, when is it? What is the calling range?
