  1. I'm getting into Vegas in a week, and wanted to know if anyone has info on the sats they're running, i.e. buy-ins, how often they run, starting stacks, avg level of play, etc? Any info at all would be helpful, and particularily if anyones actually played in any of these yet. Thanks
  2. Actually just got back from one...

Basically they are only running single table satellites right now. You'll stand in line for say.. 20 minutes and eventually get called into a certain satellite. They range from $125, $175, 225, among others.

The satellites pay depending on the buy-in, but are all winner take all, although people normally chop.

I played a $175 tonight which would pay $1500 in chips and $120 cash. We ended up chopping it 3 ways without much haggling.

Starting stacks are 1,000 and 25/25 with 15 minute levels. Blinds go 25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, 400/800 and if you're still playing, you guys played REALLY slow :)

Level of play was very mediocre at best tonight.
  3. So what about the huge selection of different satellite types they advertised before?
  4. They never get the other selection of sats running because supposedly there is no interest in them but that could also just be Harrah's not doing their best to create the interest (actually making people aware of the fact that they exist). I am not a fan of the sats or how poorly Harrah's is running them so I would stay away and instead go play tournaments at other casinos such as the Binion's Poker Classic which actually runs the exact same event the day before the WSOP does for a much smaller buyin (100-200) and gives a decent amount of play. There is also the Deep Stack Extravaganza at the Venetian which gives a ton of play and ranges from buyins of 330 to somewhere around 1k I believe (I will be playing the 330 there today), also you have the option of the local tournaments that run regularly at most all of the casinos. I just personally feel that is a better way to gain an entry and a better experience overall.
