    just read some of his posts in the blogs he writes on cardplayer.com did this guy really buy into the wsop with his own money thinking he had a shot at cashing let alone making the final table???? seems like his iq is around 80 tops?

    Celebrities play the WSOP every year with little to no intention of cashing and if they cash great, they do it for fun. Scott has clearly shown through his posts and play from prior tournaments that he is a very ODD poker player to say the least, arguably very bad. I was asking a question I knew the answer too obviously, if you think that makes me less intelligent you are a. very unintelligent yourself and b. canadian

    Scott Montgomery was a celebrity before the ME? LOL

    Would you buy into a tournament not expecting to cash? anywhere from 10 cents to 10k? I'm sure the celebrities think they can cash they just dont care if they do.

    There is a big difference between not caring if you cash and not thinking you can cash.

    I think it would help if you backed up your opinion with some specific points as to why you don't like him, opposite positions on poker, etc.

    I also don't understand your insults, although being quick to make them says something about you.

    I used celebrities as an example. Did i say scott montgomery was a celebrity, because I still don't consider him to be one. As for my post, I was looking for opinions on how other online players viewed his game. That was the point of this thread. I haven't made any insults towards anyone, other than the IQ statement. I believe Scott Montgomery is a very weak poker player that had a great run in the WSOP that is all, how he has a blog now, where he terribly analyzes hands etc. fascinates me that is all.

    FYI, Scott final tabled the LAPC WPT event a few months before the WSOP ME. So he already had a six figure score -- buying in to the ME is probably not as big a long shot as you originally thought.
