See Where You Rank in Virginia

1. I was suspicious of Seal's post saying that his article was a "level" so I did a little investigating. I asked PokerStars support for the tournament IDs on the last couple of Saturday morning $11 rebuys.

Sure enough, the account "Soiled Deck" placed 4th in the 10/18/08 8 am $11r for $2,488. The tournament ID is 113516776 if anyone would like to verify.

Seal's PocketFives profile lists his PokerStars screen name as "Sealed Deck", so I am almost certain this has to be his wife's screen name.

If there were any doubt, the account "Soiled Deck" accumulated a couple small cashes in the week leading up to October 18, confirming Seal's story of running up the $11.

GG Seal! I always wondered why a losing player wrote a bunch of articles for the front page of this website.

Why not just inform everyone at the bottom of the article that it is a level like i have seen before?

I got nothing against SEAL, just calling it how i see it.

Andy mcleod summed it up.

answer my completely fair question

Why not inform everyone this was a *joke* at the bottom of the article, like I have seen on many past articles?

Why try to get over on everyone with a front page article about using a different account without even telling people it was in fact a fictional/joke article at the end.

I thought this was a site to learn more and improve your game, not make front page joke articles about serious issues (to some people) and not even tell readers at the end.

Use some f ing logic.

Dude, we're on the same side here. Notice that I placed the word wife in quotes.

18. Andy McLEOD post from previous thread:

"instead of randomly venting at people who actually think this is a level, all that needs to happen is to check seal's wife's account's OPR to confirm she(he) actually did come fourth in the 8am $10+R, which of course she (he) did, i highly doubt seal picked out a tournament that he often plays and checked the payout schedule for his elaborate level. i'm guessing jennifear knows what the account's name is, but if she doesn't, i guess we'll have to wait for someone who does"

...and this was before the evidence came out

SICK how andy had NO DOUBTS before he had any tangible evidence...well done sir, good sleuthing

21. I know that Seal has been a respected member of pocketfives, and RPT for a long time. He has earned our respect over a long period of time.

I see no way that Seal could write this article in the first place if he thought it was a big deal to play on his wife's account.

Therefore, I am sure he didn't mean any harm to anyone.

I hope that stars does not choose to life-ban him for this.

You are being far too easy on him. Your bias clearly shows here. He even says himself in the article:

"With all my losses lately I had begun to wonder if I was a marked man. By this I mean whether I had so saturated the poker playing community with my articles, videos, and general presence for so long that I no longer held any surprises for anyone. So I decided to log onto my wife’s seldom used account and play anonymously. For starters it was very liberating. Without the RPT logo above my name I felt like I was free to make all kinds of donkish plays – and I did."

25. Don't really like doing stuff like this but it kinda needs to be said so here goes.

Seal made a post on RPT responding to a members question regarding ROI. He has since edited said post, but I can assure you it stated he had two accounts, one with a positive ROI, the other negative. The reply from the guy that asked the question is still up on the site (unedited) and states:

"thank you seal for the reply. If you don't mind can i ask why does one of your accounts have a neg roi.?"

Seal definitely wasn't joking around here and the article was 100% serious (unless he went to extreme lengths to make this reaallly funny). He was definitely playing under another account because he felt people knew his game so well from the various videos and articles he had produced, that he could no longer make any money on stars.

This is laughable. A good player could probably type his hole cards into the chatbox every hand at the levels Seal plays and still turn a profit.

I admit that I am biased towards Seal, but I am sure he wouldn't have posted this in such a public manner if he thought it mattered that he played on his wife's account.

29. Please people. Learn this lesson.

No matter what, for no reason whatsoever, legitimate or not, should you EVER EVER EVER play on anybody else's account. Is it really worth it? I mean, it's just STUPID.

You can still be a brilliant card player and do really STUPID things.

Why is it so hard for people to follow the rule?

You know,

Thou shall not kill
Thou shall not rape
Thou shall not play on anybody elses account

The first two are easy.....if people looked at the crime in such a way, they'd never do it.

People are going to continue to do this until legislation passes so there's a way that criminal charges can be pressed on a person. Just closing someone's account isn't gonna cut it.

And the sooner the subject gets squashed, the better. Seems the more we talk about it, the more people get ideas.
