    We told you less than a week after the 2010 World Series of Poker kicked off that a player was banned for life. Stealing chips isn't the only way you can get a life-ban. According to a tweet from agent Brian Balsbaugh, Rio security told him that if players are caught smoking pot in the parking lot (which has become common place on the breaks of the WSOP) it will result in a lifetime ban.

    i'm willing to bet this affects a few people here

    They need to take it easy on the whole "Lifetime ban" thing. For stealing chips then yeah I understand, but for smoking weed ? I can understand a penalty, maybe a 1 yr or 2yr ban or something, but fucking lifetime ? That is just extreme. So some 21 yr old gets caught smoking a doob and later as a respectable 64 yr old who doesn't even smoke herb he cant play a wsop event ? This is retarded. I could go light up in the police station and have lighter consequence then that.

    i mean, it does seem a little extreme to get a lifetime ban...but i think they're being pretty clear, they don't wnat you smoking weed in the parking lot

    if you smoke in ur room then come back to the tournament and someone smells it on you can they ban you for that? or does someone actually have to eye witness it happening in the parking lot or casino?

    But seriously, harrah's likes to 86 people. They've even been known to 86 advantage players from their rooms at 3 am. I wouldn't be surprised if harrah's routinely permanently 86s people who have any negative interaction with their security, from all of their properties. It might not be just a WSOP thing.

    If I were playing the WSOP -- I'm a low limit donk, so it ain't gonna happen -- I'd have to have a room upstairs to retreat to for bong hits during the breaks. If the events cost $1000 and up, it'd worth paying extra for a room I didn't have to drive to.
