Self chat ban

    Just wanted to let people know I've turned off all player and observer chat on all sites (started yesterday). I've felt for a while that chat, especially observer chat, is just too much of a distraction. As many tables as I'm on, my eyes naturally scan the chat constantly to make sure I'm not missing anything pertinent (not that there's much worthwhile to begin with). Even though I often try to ignore it completely, I usually can't manage to do that. So this seems to be the best solution.

    I'll miss talking with friends at the tables along with the supportive railers, but I definitely won't miss the many haters going out of their way to bother me lately... not listening to them is a nice side effect of the ban.

    So this is just to let you all know that I'm not ignoring you when I don't respond... not being rude, I just really feel this'll be a positive change. I will check PMs more frequently b/c of this though.

    I usually have my chat off also. I find it very distracting. Also, I find that having a positive frame of mind is crucial to my game. There is so much negative in the chat box that it affects my attitude and therefore my game.

    yea - ppl say some really hateful things to him. i don't have his table open when it happens either. but he'd tell me how some railtard said that PJ wins so much in poker because he's ugly? i mean come on - that's some really crappy sh** to say, and it bothers me probably even more than it does PJ because I hate seeing/knowing that it hurts sometimes, whether u like to admit it or not.

    why the hell are fkn haters trying to lessen a man's self-esteem? pathetic

    In a non gay way I don't think hes an ugly dude, pretty average. He's just not photogenic - he's always a wierd ass look on his face... no offense.

    F jealous railtards. I imagine they are probably broke along with being ugly and stupid. So obviously they gotta rag on someone to make themselves feel better.

    Haha, Jon's a decent looking guy... I'm old and have kids, so I can be unbiased in that assessment....

    The railbird thing is out of control... you can't even watch a final table of a Sunday 400k without some idiot typing garbage at the rate of 3 entries per second. It's too bad.... maybe Tilt should adopt the stars method of requiring the tourney buyin in your account in order to be able to chat as an observer...

    I think this is a good idea for most people. As much fun as table chat is online, it evitably makes people miss things or it changes their mood. A select few are actually helped by a little chat here and there, but on the balance of things, most just can't handle it and should turn it off.

    Or no observer chat, period. I imagine if you yelled out shit talk at the rail of the wsop, you'd get you're hater ass thrown out pretty fast. It shouldn't be any different online. Anyway good idea to turn off observer chat at the very least.
