    I would like to bring everyones attention to Big Gus. Wed had a little discussion early on about a particular hand, the ins and outs of that arent important. I just tried not to go on tilt and at least finish in the money, which I did. Ive removed the play from the chat log for obvious reasons. Needless to say I reported this idiot and hope he gets banned from every poker site there is.

    We completely agree that the language used at the tableĀ was entirely inappropriate. Accordingly, we have issued a stern warning to this player to refrain from using such inappropriate language. Should we have to re-visit this issue we will obviously be obliged to take further action, possibly resulting in the removal of the chat privilege from the account in question.

    Not taking sides on either issues here, but dont be such a baby about it. A ton of people talk trash in online poker b/c the anonymity of the internet allows them to do so. If this were a live game it wouldnt happen....but if youre going to play regularly online you'd better get used to the trash talking and insults because its not going anywhere. I dont approve of it, but unless the sites totally get rid of chat, its just going to be a part of the game. You have to be able to just laugh it off, leave that game and find another one if it is truly bothering you.

    Sorry guys, Ive obviously made a mistake with this post. I suppose we should all accept this kind of crap. If I'd starting abusing someone about the colour of their skin or their religion, Im sure Id have my account closed. To generalise about the Irish being thick is just as bad. Besides Belfast is in Northern Ireland and is part of the UK. Ill not bother in future and will offer no sympathy to anyone posting about abusive players here which I have seen here, albeit posts inside another thread. Sorry for wasting server space

    moody, i don't think that is the sentiment at all. the point of the opposing posts is to say:

    Let it go. Poker is a game of mental toughness and discipline, where you have to play in the moment regardless of what goes on around you. As he is not harming you in any physical way, learning to deal with his verbal abuse is just part of the game.

    I definitely do have some personal history with this subject. My first 6 months of poker was a tumult of negative emotion. I have since learned that my game improves a great deal when i just block out the bad and imagine murderer in a thong.

    Hey man...everyone wants to be irish, that's why we give them a day to be so. You can't help but feel sorry for the poor guy; hating because he can't be Irish.......but on a serious note. I don't condone this type of sh*t either, but if you are able to disable chat, do so. He's obviously immature, and even acknowledging his comments accomplishes his goal. It's a negative part of the online game. Laugh it off, and move on

    my chat is suspended on UB for 2 weeks cause i told a guy to die after he called my allin preflop with J7o.

    not being able to chat sucks, some guy called me a jerk cause he kept saying nh and i coiudn't reply

    Haha...my chat was banned on Full Tilt for telling some railbird to stop swinging on his friend's nuts. Then, some other guy called me a jerk for not answering his chat.

    I get abuse sometimes from people when I knock them out of a tourney calling me an Indian or a cab driver...obviously due to my handle and the fact that I live in NYC. Sadly I am a white Canadian, but I go along with the Indian stuff. I guess it's easier to take b/c I'm not actually Indian, but I enjoy coming back at them with witty/sarcastic remarks (ie. now that you're out, what time should I come and pick you up, etc). Adds more fun to the game. Trash talking is going to happen when you play online. I guess if calling you "thick" bothers you...I have no right to say it shouldn't. I just spin things like that around, but we all have different personalities. Looking forward to playing the dise 50K with all of you fishies tonight.

    This is the dumbest thread ever. Sry, moody, but this is just plain silly. Let him call you anything he wants. So what> life goes on, thicken your skin. I have NEVER said anything nasty to a player but people sure have to me. Does it bother me in the slightest bit? Hell no.

    For the future, anyone who wants to slander me and get nasty, go right ahead. here's some ammunition. I am half Greek and half Lebanese, was adopted, used to have acne in high school, dropped out of Boston College 4 days before graduation in which I would have graduated fairly high, skipped 2 grades in school and finished high school at 15 yrs old, my second toe is just slightly longer than my big toe although not by much and my old girlfriend's braces got caught on my 'you know what' when I was 18.

    Always remember that what the person types on the internet is what they would "NOT" say to you in person. That should make it much easier to bare.
