    stars $100R last night down to 3 players. Stars support and 2 other players waiting for Sheets to determine the numbers. After Sheets devised a VERY EQUITABLE guaranteed payout with the winner receiving an extra $3K, he posted it and everyone quickly agreed. Done deal!

    It would be interesting to know how Sheets calculated the payouts.

    im going to go with.. he took out 3k from the prize pool then did it by chips.

    chip chop usually goes like this

    IF there are 3 people to chop....you take the 3rd place prize money, give each person that amount.

    Then you take remaining money left over....and divide it based on the chip equity count at that point, and each player receives their share according to their chip stack, on top of the 3rd place money. Since they wanted to play out the tourney, they took out 1k from each stack, and used that as the winners cut after the chop.

    This is a basic chip chop, but as always, players have the option to deal however they see fit to agree.

    wouldnt they just take 3K out of the remaining prizepool and then do it according to their chipstack.

    yeah after they each get 3rd place money, they took out 3k to play out the tourney with and give to the winner ...and then divided the remaining chips up according to chip count at the time of the deal.

    OH yeah, and as another railer said last night - 1% for the active rail!

    If there were just two people chopping, they give each 2nd place money and follow the same principal as above.

    After the deal, they are basically playing for TLB points, and the extra money if they decided to create an extra "side pot" for the winner.

    standard icm calculation which is far more accurate than the gay poker stars take out the guarentee and do %s of the rest method.....fox has several articles on icm u could look at.
