If it's repeat post...sry, I'm new and feel free to delete. -
I'm not an immigration law expert, but why wait 12 years to take any action if his 1995 conviction was a deportable offense? I mean why didn't the INS detain him right after he served his sentence and deport him right then? It's pretty fucked up to let the guy out, so that he can get married, have a kid and then tell him 12 years afterwards that he has to leave. Also, if he does have U.S. citizenship, I'm not sure that he could be deported unless he got his citizenship through fraudulent means or lied on his application.
That said, Amarillo Slim must be proud of the Sheik. -
always thought the guy was a total douche....now its confirmed....what a total waste of life
-
this asshole should be deported yesterday imo. i hate child predators and that is one sad dude
-
Well I'm not going to miss him. He always seemed like an asshole to me.
-
The best part is after he returns to Iran he will be ceremoniously castrated.
-
No ceremony needed - back ally with rusted fork.
-
I remember seeing an episode of "The Nuts" with him, or some other lame little sketch thing like that, where he brags about what its like to be a professional gambler. The funniest part is that he plays blackjack against the house, and claims to be able to beat it. He goes up to a table, makes two bets for 10,000 each or something, wins both, and then bounces and has a line like "See? That's how you do it." or something, implying that he can consistently profit this way. Haha what a dork.
He's a tool on TV but i feel bad for him and his family. Depending on the facts of the actual case, he obv deserves it if he was actually guilty of the child molestation. Deport the f'er -
yeah ok, what was he guilty of? sexual assult charges can stem from nearly ANYTHING. the guy's been in the country since he was 9 years old and you're all in full support of his deportation. c'mon find some facts out, before you all rush to judgement. just because he's an asshole/douche bag doesn't mean he should get deported for 12 year old convictions.
-
lol @ "annoyance or molestation of a child" , i think theres a pretty big difference between them
-
Im all about anti-govt and personal rights....but something about the guy always seemed off, and now these charges come up....so really I could care less what happens to the guy.
And sexual assault charges cannot stem from "anything" just like touching someone elses foot while taking a dump in an airport bathroom does not simply occur because you have a "wide stance". -
Like i said when i said "depending on the facts of the case", it depends on the facts of the case.

nice. -
what if he fucked a 15 yr old when he was 18?
-
well he's 38 now and this was 1995 so he was 26, way over borderline
-
12 day, 12 weeks, 12 months, ok, but 12 years after the fact? The guy has been here since he was 9, so he might be biologically Iranian, but mentally hes American. Doesn't it strike anyone, how odd this situation is? Has he done anything of the sort lately to warrent these actions?
-
Well, he did kill someone in a traffic crash and he was apparently speeding, but I'm not sure if any charges were brought against him.
One of the two deaths attributed to the storm was the result of an auto accident just after 11 a.m., when a car hydroplaned in the northwest part of the valley.
A Mercedes, driven by Las Vegan Shahram Sheikhan, 29, was traveling at speeds too fast for the slick road conditions on Buffalo Drive just north of Charleston Boulevard, Metro Police said.
The Mercedes slid across the raised center median of southbound Buffalo and struck a Lincoln traveling in the northbound lanes, police said.
The female passenger, 91-year-old Dorathy Ohriner of Las Vegas, died at the scene, the Clark County Coroner's office said today. The Lincoln was driven by Neil Ohriner, 66, also of Las Vegas, police said.
Sheikhan and Mr. Ohriner were taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.

no charges laid.

I would be interested in the facts of the original case.. They said it was a misdemeanor and not a felony. If these were deportable offenses they should have booted him out back in 95.. Very interesting. And people want government to run our healthcare? Its takes them 12 years to figure out that someone was convicted of a deportable offense.

Me too...espically since he isnt registered as a sex offender in either California or Nevada. Though it has been 12 yrs ago. Dude has been a citizen since age 9...what a joke that he can still be deported. -
that accident was last year with the old lady, they have his age wrong unless he has other ID
-
There's a lot about this guy that indicates he is a sleaze. He probably diddled some 16 year old that was passing herself of as 24.
-
I don't know what should happen here, but just so you are clear he is not a citizen of the U.S.:
"Professional poker player Shahram "Shawn" Sheikhan, an Iranian citizen who lives in Las Vegas"
and...
"Sheikhan, a 38-year-old <span>legal permanent U.S. resident</span>" -
U.S. law allows deportation from the country if a resident has been convicted of TWO crimes involving moral turpitude NOT arising out of a SINGLE scheme of criminal misconduct
That 1995 conviction wasnt the 1st apparently............. -
The lady was f'in 91 yrs old, he probably did her a favor, I know at that age, I want someone to put one bullet in my head
Why wait? -
Lets not dwell on the negative side of this story and look at the positive.... In Iran Sheiky will be able to deposit money to his favorite poker site with ease! The cup is half full so cheer up!
-
Why wait?
^^ I laughed ^^ -
looks like I should delete sheiky from my myspace page lol.
