it took toloose a while to call so i put him on a range KQ QJ AJ or low pp...and figured he would definitely fold....check-folding woulda left me about 85k with blinds coming so that really didnt cross my mind. any help is appreciated...thanks
  2. i think this is a check fold mainly for one reason. while there are a large amount of chips in the pot, you have to figure that the only hand you're going to get called by is a hand that beats you. even if it's 2,2 you're still an underdog. you had a little over 89,000 left so maybe a continuation bet of 20,000 then fold when he raises or if he flat calls, a check fold on the turn. while this will leave you short stacked, you won't be out.
  3. You might as well push all in and pray before the flop .
  4. I would agree, if you going to put close to 1/3 of you chips in pf you might as well go all in, you dont' have much fold equity. You have less then 10x the BB so you are basically a short stack and AQ is too good to fold. If the 88 calls your bet (which he probably will) you lose, but you may get a tight player player to fold an 88 in that situation. You have to win coin flips to win when the blinds get high.

  5. 6 handed AQo is great to steal blinds with but you have to understand in your case you are playing for your whole stack by raising 1/3 preflop OOP. Against any 2 random cards that would call preflop I think your play is slightly +EV.

A min raise here UTG is very good as well as a push. He may not call with 88 if you have the right image.
  6. Push preflop. Win races.

  7. The problem i see with check folding, is leaving yourself open to a bluff if you BOTH missed and he has an even worse hand (KQ or AJ?). You can get some better hands to fold by pushing(pairs lower than ten that didnt hit a set).

Do you guys not worry about an inferior hand taking the pot away if you check the flop after showing strength preflop? I think i try to represent JJ+ here and push just like you did. If you hadnt ran into a set you would probably take the pot down on the flop here the majority of the time.
