  8. nice life them royal flushers have :/
  9. I'm betting. But it's such a shitty card on the River.

Puts an unlikely flush out there, but he's now looking at any hand with a Ten in it killing him (and he's unlikely to have one of the last 3). You made a small 3-bet preflop making it look like a premium hand and unless he made 2 pair + he's not going to come along.

Checking on the River will just achieve what he wanted to do: hero-call you down and hope he's good, and checking the River with showdown value.
  10. You're really not going to accomplish anything by checking, unless you've got some sick history w/ villain and think he'll spazz out with whatever he has on the river if you check. That said, he may spazz if you make a weak looking bet as well. So let's just assume, since you didn't give reads/stats on villain, that he's on the passive/call station-y side (prob a fair guess)...

Ultimately, bet sizing on the river is the real issue. You need to make it either quite small or very big, and you should base this on what you think his range is for calling pre (note: wide, especially since your 3-bet is so small), calling the flop, and calling the turn. If you think he's likely to have a T (i.e. QTs, JTs, TT), then you should make a large bet since if he's calling a smaller bet (i.e. 1/3 pot to 1/2 pot) most of the time, then he's almost certainly calling a bigger bet most of the time too (if stacks were deeper I'd bet somewhere near pot, but since villain doesn't have a full pot bet left, I'd probably bet like $2 less than what puts him all in... it's a thing I like doing vs passive fish that seem to loathe the idea of calling a bet for their entire stack w/o the nuts, but will convince themselves to call a bet for "not quite" their entire stack. you'd be surrised how often this works vs the right villain lol).

The argument for betting small is obv to entice villain to call with whatever he has. Unfortunately, imo, I think the majority of his range that does NOT include a Ten is going to be 1pr hands, since sets/2pr hands are very likely to raise either the flop or turn (unless of course he hit 2pr on the river, i.e. KQ/KJ... which are certainly in his range).

With those things said, I think betting big is the best choice on the river. I think the majority of the time he's either going to have a hand he's always usually/always calling with (straight or some weird flush, i.e. 87cc), or he has a hand that isn't going to call anything but a microscopic bet. Plus, some % of the time when we bet big, he's going to convince himself that his hand is good and/or we're bluffing and he'll make the hero call w/ something like KJ, poorly played set, etc.

  11. You have to bet the river, way too many hands he'll check behind with. I'd make a small value bet and hope he can at least call you.

  12. no you shouldnt
