  1. havent won a tourny in forever, and seems like im runnin bad but i must suck... how do i get back to top form

  2. Study, read books, watch videos. Take a break if you need to. If you are playing good poker, it will turn around.
  3. Breaks work wonders even short ones. I took 3-4 days off and read about 1/4 of a poker book and ran well for a day.. I dunno about longer than a day thought i havent played much today yet lol
  4. move down stakes and play a lot more.!!!!!
  5. a renewed sense of optimism and focus
  6. Some people here say take a break, which can be good advice, but the other option is to just up your volume. I go with the latter and I'm on a great upswing right now.
  7. Just keep on playing. I went on a 2 month looseing streak with no final tables or wins. Finally i win a tourney and make a final table with a huge field to break even and go up from the 2 month downswing. It just happens and you just have to not tilt and think of it as "i wonder if i can go 0 for my next 20 mtts while playing my A game", if u make those reverse phycoligy goals you will start winning. sounds weired but works.
  8. quit poker forever and never come back

  9. But yeah ive been in a pretty good downswing myself. I've found myself having a negative attitude torward poker lately. I'm pretty sure my attitude was the biggest losing factor. I'm going to move down in stakes this week drink several red bulls super focus and grind grind. Downswings can be hugely depressing. Hard to not let poker downswings affect your life outside of poker...but it's very important.

  10. Before you start your tourny, Its very important to do three squats, turn around 360 degrees to your left three-four times, stick your left hand down your pants, put your feet up in a very comfortable position and start playing all the hands you normally would not play. If that doesn't work then Quit poker forever and take up BINGO.
  11. raise more, fold less
  12. also try playing while on PCP

  13. I recently went through a downswing and just decided to take a break from the game to study it. I came back after having read a book and watched a bunch of videos with a renewed patience and passion for the game and have been playing much better, but without increased results yet. I personally found that the downswing caused me to press and play a lot of hands I normally wouldn't or make really bad calls when I knew I needed to be folding. Reading and hearing very good poker players perspectives helped a ton.

    ^^^^^AGREED!

  15. Move down in stakes (so that the downswing doesn't have that much of an impact).

Play some different games. Drop in an Omaha H/L or Razz game.

After doing some studying - freeroll MTT's. After the first 30 minutes, these turn into somewhat decent training games. Plus, there are many different "types" of players in these games (strong, weak, aggressive, passive) - learn to recognize them. And since these are freerolls, making risky decisions doesn't cost you anything. Even try this on the $0.10 180's.

Less time posting and more time flogging the dolphin obv. You only get back what you put in imo.
