I was very happy to see ak here on the bubble because I figured Crazyzachary was raising light utg on the bubble. Then Varico who I knew was a regular and a winning player flatted with a 20 bb stack. This was really sick because we were on the bubble and a flat call with that stack screamed aa or kk to me. I ended up going with my first instinct and made the sickest laydown ive ever made online. Any thoughts? I would love to hear opions from any other mtt high stakes regs. Any body have insight into Varicos game? I believe he is a winning player and could not imagine him flatting without aa or kk, But maybe I am incorrect.

  5. does op know we haz an Ace and a King?
  6. so i finally decide to start reading some more posts and i get insta-leveled

    8((((((((((
  7. Hayden fk everyone in this post, your thinking is dead on, VARICO is a standard reg, ez muck find a better spot IMO

  8. Ty I agree.

  9. first instinct is obv auto squeeze

but ur correct, varicos flat looks monstrous

having said that, i still push

  10. I'm sorry man, I didn't mean to be rude. I obv don't play at this level and would have turbo shipped that in b/c I don't think enough. I just assumed it was a level b/c I'm auto-all-in with AK. :/
  11. I think you are crushed most of the time here. That being said I usually go against my instinct and shove. nice fold imo. If he really is a solid player I'm pretty sure he has AA KK or a mislick.
  12. it would be very hard for me to fold here but from the limited experience iv had with varico and my impression of how he plays...i would say folding here is probably correct.
  13. Kinda hard getting decent advice for a great thinking player and this hh proves it. So easy for everyone to stack off w AK every single time and not think it through.

Seems like your thought process is pretty spot on, and I'm sure you can find a better spot like bank said. Very tough spot though, but I think you're probably right. I don't have too much history with Varico but I do know he is a good player who is def a reg. No way he is flatting here with a marginal hand or AQ or worse so I guess you are flipping at best and most likely crushed by KK/AA. Can def find a better spot to get it so I'd say gld.

  14. I seem to have a very different read on varico

Varico plays farr from nitty/tight/solid/etc. His range is far from KK and AA and I can almost guarantee he doesn't flat those hands vs CrazyZach. I just really dont see how this can ever be a fold. However, I respect the fact that you went with your gut thats really all that matters.
  16. Hm, can you still call as opposed to fold though you think he has a monster? Getting a pretty good price in the BB and if an A flops the chances of him having the other 2 As... I guess if you're 100% about your read a fold is fine, what are your thoughts about calling vs. folding?

  17. it's varico....shove

  18. I mean I was thinking maybe he could be light here and just be 4280 leveling us but seriously? I mean I said what I said but that doesn't mean I don't get it in here either, but to just sit here and be like "oh its varico ship it in" doesn't really mean shit to anyone...

  19. ive seen varico flat 67s with 12 bb's before. This is such a super standard snap shove.

  21. More evidence that Nipsman is the latest superuser. He's 100% on his read because he can SEE the hole cards.
  22. I can understand that. I guess if he wanted to make his hand look super strong and freeze Crazyzachary on the flop he could flat with a marginal hand here. I just dont ever see him having aq, or 77-jj.

He was probably thinking "oh this hand looks pretty I wanna see a flop. I call"

  24. I dont like calling cause with those stacks I should be shipping if im playing the hand. Its like if im to scared to ship cause my read is he has aa or kk what am I calling for?

    Lmfao, this guy's a winner!
  27. The fact that you presented this hand so people better understand the higher level of thinking in high buyin MTTs is good...however, I don't think this particular hand warrants a fold solely because of the villain. I don't particularly think its bad to fold in this spot, but I wouldn't justify it by assuming VARICO called with a big hand. I'd have a much easier time folding this if it was a nitty reg.

  28. Then it was a bad read cause I thought he was a nitty reg. I havent played with him a lot.

It's somewhat similar other than he is in the blind, but I definitely wouild not assume that when he flats a raise with <=20bbs that he is huge.

VARICO is close to awful, if not plain bad; the new Vietcong ( he's from Spain too). He flats KQ there all day.
