  1. Hey Fellow P5'rs,

I just started playing the 225 turbo sitngo's on stars and have done quite well. I have played a total of 36 of the 225 sitngo's spending $8,100.00 while grossing $13,176.00 for a net profit of $5,077.00. Within these 36 tourneys, I have gotten 1st 6 times, 2nd 8 times, 3rd 6 times, and did not place 16 times. I've cashed 56% of the time. This is a 2 part question. Obviously I'm going to continue playing these sng's, but do you think 36 is enough to show consistent success or is it possible I have gotten lucky over this period of tourneys? My second question is how do these stats relate to other bigger money players (or whoever) when it comes to the amount spent entering tourneys to the amount they win. What is your ratio? Just Curious and would REALLY appreciate feedback on this. Thanks a bunch

  2. 56% is an excellent rate! If you can continue at 56% (that will be tough) you can make a killing. Given that you probably spent 25 hours doing this, you are making $200 an hour, can't hardly complain about that can you? I play the $50 SNG's on stars alot, and their format is excellent, even the turbo's are pretty easy to beat. I finish in the money 48% of the time which is a fairly good rate and quite profitable. My sample is only a little over 200 SNG's, which isn't really big enough, but I have a much larger sample on party, where I am averaging 46% money finishes, but those are ten handed rather than nine handed.

Work on your short handed game, maybe play some small heads up tourneys and you will get better at getting into 1st once you make it into the money. Your attention to stat tracking is commendable, keep it up! As soon as my bankroll climbs a little I'll be up there with ya. Check out pokerprophecy.com and you can look up stats on SNG players on party and find out some interesting info. Check out some of the ranked players on P5's and see how htey do in SNG's on Party for a better idea what good stats are.

I think as a general rule anything above 40% ten handed and 44% nine handed is a very good ratio. From seeing players at the tables and looking them up in pokerprohecy I very rarely see people higher than those stats, and when I do they usually turn out to be an excellent player.
  3. Pokerprophecy is sweet. I just checked myself out and I have a %58 win rate on party poker. Which would make be a pro...lol. But that's only after 24 sngs.
  4. It's an excellent win rate, but the sample is too small. I don't think it's possible to maintain that kind of win rate, especially on party poker.
  5. haha yeah I agree. But it still made me feel pretty good about myself :-P
