    Im currently in a 6max tourney, the players to the left and right of me have been sitting out for 20 minutes and the rest of the table is really tight. Is this gonna hurt me ability to accumulate a lot of chips?

    Well if it folds around to the SB when you're in the BB you get a free walk cuz he's sitting out, and if it folds around to him while you're in the SB you get a free blind from the guy to your left sitting out, so you gotta like that. If the rest of the table is tight then loosen up to exploit their tightness. Standard...Theres never a table dynamic that is going to "hurt" your ability to accumulate chips if you notice how they are playing and switch gears to adjust to them.

    Ummm, I can't see how people sitting out could possibly be -EV.

    Will you win big pots? No.

    Can you accumulate chips? Yes.
