Rchhockey68 said he's never limping 88 there and I am pretty much always limping 88 there. He said he couldn't put the guy on QQ since he flat called his pf raise. And my thought is, I would flat with QQ and I wouldn't raise with 88 because that exact kind of thing happens all the time. Am I being a weak nit here?? -
Please analyze my preflop actions. Not my terrible post flop actions.
Also please note that i had been playing TAG only showing down premium hands.

I see nothing wrong with pre flop action. You have a decnt stack and many times you will steal the blinds, especially if you have shown down premium hands. That being said, give your opponent credit for a real hand here, in that if he is any kind of a thinking player he will be calling with something pretty solid, knowing that you have been playing solid, and not just splashing around. When those two overs drop and he leads, you have to just let it go.. even if he is getting aggressive with J10 it is a flip you probably don't want to be in, but you already recognized post flop was bad.

Thank you for the reply. Like i said, i lost my mind after the flop. The starter of this thread and I were arguing my pf play. I just cant let myself limp from the button with that hand.
I guess i kept with the hand because i put him on aq, aj, or kq because there was not pf reraise. I have to say he played it well pf and i just let him have my chips post flop.
Turns out i bubbled that sng.
More replies please.

I am all about going with your initial reads early in a hand, and if you had a strong feeling that flop bet is with AQ or something along those lines, then I guess you can make that call. However, when he leads out for 800 on that flop, warning lights have to start going off. Your 88 is no good. I'll admit that he played the hand well, as most people will look to check raise there out of position. I would not have put him on QQ, but with that lead out bet I would guess A10 or K10, maybe even QJ... any of those hands you are beat, and are not getting him off of it. I think you have to lay that down on the flop.
You can argue that on the turn you are committed, but at the same time, there is a time to go with pot odds and a time to know when you are beat and give it up. If he has any of those 3 hands (or an over pair like QQ), you have 2 outs to win it.. even with QJ you are only a slight favorite. Lay it down, don't just give away an extra 1200 chips. Know when to let something go, people aren't ALWAYS bluffing -
Klepto,
I agree with your analysis. Like I said, i played post flop terribly. I do want your(and everyone else s opinion) on my preflop play.
