I was about to post about this too. WTF? I satt'ed into this b/c today was fortunately the only Saturday I could actually play this. If they really moved it back a week w/out sending out an email, that's terrible. They actually sent an email at like 2pm EST (2 hours before it is supposed to start) as a reminder and encouraging people to enter.

a big WTF SMD is in order. I deposited just for this tourney. Don't make it a gurantee if you can't stick to your guns and eat up what u fucked up.

I usually don't play any poker on saturday, but today I was free. WTF!! This is pure shady on their part, eat the overlay.

I will still play the event, luckily I had enough points to buy in for free, from when doyles room had a good site. There goes that new player base.

How much was the buy-in exactly? 500 people playing for $250k would've been awesome.

too unhappy to coherently ask, but what if someone wasted time playing a satellite, won their way in, then could not play next week? I am willing to bet the actual cash won't be refunded. And almost certain those of us who won them on the cardplayer and P5 satellites are stuck playing the 4th since those tickets were "promotional". I will inquire when I am less likely to spout invectives and vitriol.

Only reason people joined this was for the obvious 100k+ overlay. Doyles room should of known they wouldn't get 2000 people to join or even 1000. Eat the overlay and hope people like your site. Bodog eats more then this on a weekly basis.

This goes to show, that if stars capped field sizes (the only negative I've ever heard about them is that some tourneys are way to big) then they would literally monopolize the poker industry.

Counting the rake, they needed just over 1500 people entering to break even. Of the 500 or so people entered, presumably a number of them got in via sattys with overlays like I did (only 2 people entered at 17+1.50 each for a guaranteed seat), so who knows how much they would've lost. I doubt they'll give those of us who can't play next week and satt'ed in a $165 refund - maybe our original sat entry cost. The only thing I'll say in their defense is that I do remember one time trying to register for a tournament about 5 minutes before registration closed, and I had no actual registration button to press, so couldn't join. I suppose it is possible that it really was a technical problem...

yup, they are obviously avoiding the overlay... but according to Chris, if you can't play next week, you are probably just screwed. Good way to draw new customers to your market... I'm sure this will go over like a lead balloon in the poker community.

I told alot of my friends about this tourney and had them go deposit during hte last hours just to play it, now this make me seem like a jackass for convincing them to put $ on this site.
