Hey guys, sorry I no longer have the HH here. But my question is general. On the bubble in an sng how agressive do you play against the big stack? In a recent SNG there were 4 of us left, one big stack, myself and another average and a short stack (about 4.5 BB) .
Anyways I have AQ on the button which is big stacks BB. I raised 3X = 450, sb folds and he calls. Flop is Q 7 3 (2 spades). He bets out 800 which is about 1/2 of what I have left. Now im certain I am ahead here and had him on a draw or A7, A3, KQ, JQ type of hand.
Well I shoved and he called with his fdraw and hits on river. Considering the short stack did I make the right play? Should I have tried to get through this hand cheaply vs bigstack? Usually I dont like to tangle with bigstack on bubble with one guy short but dont see how I could have avoided this. I mean play for dirst right? -
Either fold or go all in pre-flop.

Really need hand history. this has been mulled over many times and the answer is FOLD!!

This is not good advice ^^^^
Assuming you have a stack of $2500- $3000 , there is no reason to risk all in for $225 chips.A standard raise is the way to go here, maybe a little higher than $450 to give you some added info preflop.
Q-rag-rag is the ideal flop after opening for a raise w A/Q
In any event, I think you played the hand fine and you got unlucky.
edit*** (your exact chipstack would be helpful. ) -
Never put more than 1/3 of your chips in preflop. If you had 2000 before you raised you are right there where you need to be to raise and fold if need be. I usually raise 2.5x BB in these situations because it's enough to get all the auto folding hands to fold and almost nobody who will call 2.5 won't call 3 as well, then after the flop you have more options. if you had bet 350 and he called, now his lead out bet is more like 500-600 and you'll still have 1650 behind so you have more leverage on the pot. This is deffinetly one of those situations though that it would've been infinitely better to be out of position and shove the flop and make hime call 1.5:1 on his flush draw.
Once you hit the flop and you are essentially 99% sure you are ahead you simply cannot fold.
With out all the stats infront of my I can't ICM the thing to see where you'd end up fold v push and be called.
But I think it's safe to say you are correct to push on him, and he is correct to call you and the rest is just the deck. -

Fold A/Q on the button 4 - handed.. !! ?? I strongly disagree..
Why not just sit out if you're gonna fold that ?? -
You were definitely correct to push all in. You almost certainly have the best hand, and in addition this is not even a scary board. I'd say most of the time you are a dominating favorite in this hand with 2 cards to go. Even with him having the flush draw, you are a significant favorite. You really can't expect a much better situation than this, and if you aren't willing to go all-in here you may as well post/fold until you get into the money.
