  1. OK, so there have been numerous threads about what to call in various situations and encountered this tonight

    pokerstars Game #12733199591: Tournament #64616408, $30+$3 Hold'em No Limit - Level VI (100/200) - 2007/10/20 - 02:13:34 (ET)
    Table '64616408 1' 9-max Seat #6 is the button
    Seat 1: slaps825 (2610 in chips)
    Seat 6: 25aragorn25 (1180 in chips)
    Seat 8: On-Balls (8070 in chips)
Seat 9: hawaiindream (1640 in chips)
    On-Balls: posts small blind 100
    hawaiindream: posts big blind 200
    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to slaps825 [Kc Ks]
    slaps825: raises 400 to 600
    25aragorn25: folds
    On-Balls: raises 400 to 1000

I feel like the shove is the painfully obvious play here as the min raise is screaming weakness...but would like to hear anyones case for folding. The guy was playing not super agro big stack, but raised more and made a few plays as such here.

EDIT: What are thoughts on an open shove or a bet that commits you to any further action.
  2. hmm, i could see a stop in go.

  3. Fold is not correct here, unless his range is ridiculously small. I would shove.
  4. All in...cant see folding here.
  5. To me it is shove 100% as well, was just wondering if any other plays are more optimal....What about an open shove...is there a significant amount of value in that play by taking the big stacks bully option out of the way and knowing that if either of the shorter stacks pick up a hand, they may very well call anyways....looking back I may be a fan of the shove...thoughts?

  6. His minraise means he's huge or trying to play you out leaving himself room to fold (not optimal of course, but possible). That's why I shove. You would prefer he folded over having to play this hand to conclusion.
  7. shove...sure looks like he's trying to take advantage of the bubble
  8. clear shove if you fold your down to 2000 chips or so, so its not like your guaranteed to cash. the real question is say you have 4000 chips, then its debatable. just my opinion though.
  9. This is crap I posted the exact same question a week ago and innisnt trashed it as a stupid question as to whether folding was an option. I think folding should always be a possibility here because the odds of him calling the shove are extremely high, and the case can be made that there is an easier way to cash without having to show down a hand (which as jennifear said, is something you would prefer doesn't happen) even if it is one where you are 80% to win
  10. What if this same situation happens but slaps has 4610 and OnBalls has 6070 chips? Whats our play then?
  11. Sorry, stalefish, but folding is definitely not close to a good option in this particular instance. The reason that I like it if the other guy folds is because you win his 1000 without a chance of elimination.
  12. psssshhhhh whatever i just outlasted jennifear in a sng (6th to 4th), this is call-fold to min bet on flop everytime.

edit SWEET! 100th post bashes jennifear. waco is next
  13. I think I might have just open shoved in the first place to avoid this. Since you didn't and instead 3x raised it, this had to be to induce action. Well now you have got it so put your chips in.

Folding here would be ridiculous. You are far from guaranteed not to bubble and you have a perfect situation here to win a lot of chips.
