Hey all,
I've recently begun playing the $10 + 1 SNG level. I consider myself competent in the push/shove aspect of the SNG but in the smallish sample size at this level I'm curious about how others approach the game when they are around 10-15 bbs and there is about 7-9 players at the table. at the lower levels this rarely happened as you'd have more people getting knocked out early so when getting to this level its all bubble play.
so how do you approach the table in this situation? you have AJo UTG do you shove? 66 in mid position?
thanks for any help -

general example not from a real game. you have 10 BBs with blind level at 75/150. you're utg with AJo and its nine handed. obviously four or five handed this is no brainer shove. i'm asking as to peoples style on approach this hand with a full table. obviously oyu want to perserve fold equity going forward. do you shove here or fold and why?

Good luck
also say same scenerio with 77 -
9 handed utG with AJ is a fold in my opinion. 66 with 10 big blinds in middle position is a shove, I probably fold it as well UTG.

AK w/ 10bbs if you can be the first one in i jam, almost regardless of other circumstances in SNGs. The AJ and 77 are both probably folds UTG IMO. I think they good plays w/ ~10bbs (after antes especially) into 5 or 6 players, but not 7 or 8 (can provide math for if needed).
Im not going to claim to be great but i think ive decently well in my limited sample while running pretty average (or below- KK = worst hand in poker). I pretty much play tight in early position (especially after about 15bbs), you can pick up plenty of chips by just picking on weeker players opens (when you have 12bbs+ for the most part) and by just playing your shoves from LP. The 12/180s are SUPER regged up and are very high variance because of the ammount of push/fold being played in almost everyspot but some of the smaller field sngs are still pretty good. I think that a Nash calc and a spread sheet for cEV are beyond essential though.
The archieves are pretty key too. GL sir. -
Last word: In SNGs tho almost every play is situational, finding a fellow sng player and going over individual hands is a great way to work on leaks and on extracting extra value.

Yea I would like to see that math that you think folding 10 bbs with 77 or AJ is good......

well using the nash icm calculator assuming 9 handed with equal stacks at 75/150 this is utg shoving range
<table border="1" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="2"><tbody><tr><th width="40">PU</th><th width="40">CA</th><th width="40">OC</th><th>Range</th></tr><tr><td>UTG</td><td>7.7%, TT+ ATs+ AJo+ KJs+ KQo </td></tr></tbody></table> -
There are 3 or 4 reasons why that is nonsense. I thought you were going to show us some maths.....

Also I see AJ is in that range....
