  1. This is the first hand of a $16 9 man turbo sng on stars. I call behind a limper on the button with a small pp. When the original limper led on the flop I raised with bottom set. The sb called which didn't really worry me, but then the limper brokenstar shoved. I immediately put him on 66 or 77. I almost mucked, but I see so many baffling plays at these limits and I didn't recognize the player as a regular so I decided folding would be a mistake as his range could be pretty big in this spot.
Without a really strong read on the player or even if this was a solid player that I knew, should I ever be folding this? If this was a mtt I would of beat him in the pot, but seeing hows it's the first hand of a sng is it just too likely he has an AA or KK there and it would never be profitable to fold in that spot?

  2. Plenty of hands that you beat here. 88-AA might shove this flop. 55 45 65 75 76 64 74 78 also. I just think if you start trying to fold sets you're going to be folding the best hand way too often.
  3. Ran into the same situation as the BB. Min raise from early position and I am hold 77. Flop comes Q 10 7. I check, he leads, I raise and he shoves. Just knew I ran into aces. I did and he proceeded to hit runner runner K J for a straight! GG me but it was the right play. Long run= +EV.
  4. Set over set is just UL, I would be in that pot almost every time. The only thing I'd be worried about when all of the chips are put in would be 85, there was no preflop raise and he is in the SB.
  5. ^ my thought process as well. I mean really I know its a cooler and almost everyone is going broke there. But really the way the hand was played if that was a solid player shouldn't he have nothing but 66 or 77?

  6. do you know he's a solid player? it is the first hand of a $16...

no way i fold bottom set on the first hand of an sng unless i have like 22 and the flop comes AAAAAAAAA2 and three people go allin in front of me.
  7. set over set = good game you.

not a damn thing wrong with getting all your chips in on that flop.
