From a $16 Turbo SNG (single table) on Stars.

I don't know anything about POES or what exactly this bet means.

I could see doing this with either a very strong hand or draw, none of which seem very likely on this board.

sea58g had been limping into a lot of pots and in general seemed like a bad player.

I really don't know what to do here. I only have second pair. However, I don't think flat calling is correct. If I'm ahead here, I want to charge opponents for trying to hit overcards. As strange as it seems, with my short stack, I really think the only options are push all in or fold.

    Your thoughts?

BTW - I guess you could make the argument that I should've folded preflop. I don't really like that play but I'm willing to hear arguments for folding pre.
  2. Preflop:

Never fold. It's an awful play. 88 is a huge hand in virtually every unraised pot.

Raising preflop is good, as is shoving.

As played, on the flop you are beaten. Someone has at least a jack because there are no draws on the flop. It's too unlikely that your shortstack will scare them off. You are drawing to two outs. Fold.
