I just recently got into sng's. I had played them on and off or to sustain a bankroll if one of my accounts dips too low due to cold mtt streaks. I started watching a buddy who was, "killing these sng's."
His knowledge of sng's was far greater than mine and at first I had limited success. Like, 3 cashes in 18 sng success (playing $5 level.)
I kept watching and studying and since that time I guess I have been, "killing those sng's." Can someone give me some perspective on my success? (Not a brag post, I genuinely don't know how or whether this is even noteworthy)
26 sng's
1st: 9
2nd: 5
3rd: 3
No cash: 9
(Note: If you sharkscope me, you'll see I'm -$45. That's due to playing a bunch of $4 180-man and having my biggest cash voided since the tournament was cancelled due to server problems. It was a 3-way chop where I got $160) -
lol - my earlier thread

SNGs - 26
1st - 9
2nd - 5
3rd - 3
XXX - 9
Profit - $1,707
Playing SNGs for a living doesn't give you much room on this site for bragging but whatever, I run the $60's. 16% ROI after 1,500 = $15K in 6 weeks.

I'd say it's pretty good considering its the best session I've ever had... weird stats.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> -
I think that's all the perspective I need. You knock out the same amount of sng's in 2 hours that I do in 6 days.

These are outstanding results ... but on a SMALLISH sample. You are very likely to be a very good player, but any SNG pro will tell you this is absolutely not sustainable on the long run (your are showing 100% ROI here which is ludicrous). Looks like you've been lucky.
You should play at the very least 100 SNGs at this level (200 would be much better) to have a more accurate idea of your level. Then come back and post your stats.
That being said, your future in SNGs looks bright. And you should try multitabling, 2 tables plays exactly like one (you can still observe action when you're not involved in a hand and get accurate reads). Then if that works for you, try playing 4. -
Thanks, I appreciate your comments. 2-tabling is actually what I'm doing now. At first it was tricky when I was heads up one or both tables. I actually had to remind myself that I don't need to make lightning quick decisions just because it's my turn. That helped a lot.
