I want to get started playing 200 SNG's on a consistent basis and I was wondering if you guys could recommend any mentors or any instructional sites (Card Runner, PokerXFactor, and Real Poker Training) which would be best for these SNG limits.

PXF by far
-
Well I just watched the sample video and I think it's a little crazy. It obv. works for the man at these high limits but I highly doubt this super aggressive maniac style would do so well at lower buy in levels.
My vote will remain
POKERXFACTOR..

gidders?

HOLLA!
-
Sheets SNG discussion on PXF is hard to beat.
-
I have followed one of the instructors on sng icons and he has made a very good amount of money playing SNGS...I think I'll sign up for sng icons and then pokerxfactor...
-
Yes, the smgicons guy, bigjoe2003, is very good at SNGs. I felt like they didn't quite have enough videos to justify their signup fee though. At least with PXF you pay a lot but you get some MTTs, some cash game vids, etc.
-
I joined Gidder's site. It's very good, but gone now, I think.
Get lessons from Jennifear, a sng expert who frequently posts here. She has an incredible 50% ROI in sngs.
Her site to arrange a lesson is http://jennypoker.spaces.live.com/
Notice how far in advance she's booked up! Extremely popular instructor.
I took a lesson from her, then got to see her play a 45-player sng, knowing what her cards were. Sure enough, she won. -
If you want to learn a style to muti-table SNGs at mid levels and up then sngicons is the place to go. Sheets convers the basics of SNGs very well but I've never liked his early game play and his 3x raising with the intention of folding. IMO, the guys at sngicons offer a very efficient way to play sngs.

TY very much az, it was a pleasure teaching you, and I hope you succeed! TY so much for the kind words.
I don't feel I am qualified to teach the OP yet, as he is looking for $200 SNG help, and I haven't had success there yet.
I strongly recommend private mentoring though, because at these levels, the little details make the difference. -
Thanks for the honesty Jenn. I know your an amazing SNG player and I really respect your game. As far as private mentoring can you recomend anyone. Thanks.
-
I checked out sngicons awhile ago before you had to pay to see the videos. I didn't see anything covered that isn't covered by most people who make sng videos.
I have been a member of 6 training sites and I have viewed content from even more. Simply put, there is nothing out there that comes close to matching the level of SNG training quality that Sheets gives in his SNG Lecture Series on PXF. If you really want to learn the theoretical underpinnings of correct SNG play as well as seeing practical application, PXF is flat out your best choice.
The other sites are like Podunk Community College. PXF is Stanford. -
I'm not sure of who to recommend, but my respect for Seal and Fox would lead me to try them first if I was in your spot.
-
I just watched a video of a $1000 SNG at PXF. Bax was playing. He commented repeatedly how terrible the players were.
One allin preflop was K9o going in and T8o calling. Yeah, T8o. No gap concept there. Neither player was a super short stack. Of course, the T8o won with trip tens.
Lower-limit sng skills may be sufficient in a game like this! -
Check out pokerfox.net and scroll to the bottom of hte front page. There's a $200 SNG video at the bottom if you click the flashing box you can watch the whole thing and see what you think. I'm fedge at stars if you want to sharkscope me.
-
Yes, the latest bax video of the $1000 is insane with bad players, it's really unreal. I like PXF, I kinda wish they put up more SNG videos, only cause I dont play MTTs that often lately.
-
pxf worked fopr me so far (1month) -sheets lessons are great amd easy to understand (am german) and i run very good since joinin (ROI 20% better than average but only on 200 sngs)
