  1. Played in the $700 satty and won one... Not familiar with the whole process, since it's my first package, but stars credited my account right after the tourney with

$1,000 in cash for travelling expenses i guess

    and today with another $10,000.

    Questions:

    1. Since they credited my account with an additional 10k does this mean we can always unregister from the ME? Thought it's not possible to get cash as for the first package.

    2. So far I only received $11,000 what's with the other $1,000 ?

Would be thankful for any responses from people who are familiar with Stars Live-Event-packages and how the whole process will go.
  2. As far as 1 goes, pokerstars is not allowed to register you - so yes, they are essentially giving you cash and hoping that you take it to register for the main. You aren't obligated to, and that 10k (or 11k) is yours now to do with as you please.

2- Not sure, but IIRC last year it was something like you get the extra $1k when you actually show up in Vegas and tell them you're playing and pick up the gear etc that they give to you? I might be wrong, and have never come close to winning a sat, so take that fwiw i'm sure someone can be more helpful there.

So that $1,000 is basically some extra money for wearing Pokerstars patches and clothes ? Snapcall play than...

  4. i think the other 1k is to pay for ur hotel room and u still get free pokerstars shit too
  5. The other $1000 is for the hotel. This is what happened last year and I may be off a little with some of the details. You should get an email in a few days that I believe has a link you click where you give them some details about you and whether or not you want to take the sponsored route and also if you will be staying at their hotel (Palms). If you decline the hotel then you will get $1000 in cash in your account at some point. I do not remember what the time frame is though and you can still take the sponsored route without staying at their hotel. If you take the hotel then I think it is something like 7 or 8 nights and some other perks as well.

Best suggestion is to read over all of the stuff on pokerstars website about the WSOP package and that may help you decide whether to play or not because there are some very good perks to playing.
  6. your account is credited with $11,000 to do as you please like above posters stated. You only get the additional cash which you never actually see if you agree to play and agree to there terms and conditions to play the tournament. You'll be staying at palms place if it's the same set up as last year which is very nice. Has small kitchen, stove, microwave, ice maker, etc. Nice bathroom. You will be given a players bag full of gear to wear during the main, as well as a free roll sng where there are $100-$500 payouts or something similar. Last year it also provided shuttle service to and from the hotel to the casino and free entry into the pokerstars party which was open bar, nelly concert, and appetizers. If the $11,000 doesn't mean a whole lot to your roll or life then def play. Played last year through a stars seat and was easily one of the best experiences and decisions I've ever made. If you make past day 3 or 4 (forget which one) your hotel stay is automatically extended with no extra charge to you once you show the pokerstars staff you're still in. You'll be getting detailed info shortly via email that should answer any questions myself or previous posters haven't covered.

  7. Would def. appreciate some more detailled info @ dangle

  8. PM me if you wanna ask more questions, ill try my best to answer them from my experience last year

  9. Everything Dangle said sounds about right except for the fact that you actually have to play to get the extra $1000. You don't have to, you simply decline the hotel when you fill out the info with Stars and they will credit your account with the $1000 instead. Best spot for answers really is on stars website here is the link to their FAQs page. http://www.pokerstars.com/wsop/faq/ That should be able to answer most all of your answers.

    thanks chris.

Should I stay at the Palms or better choose another hotel? Heard from some other guys, that there are way better hotels to spend the money on.

Most of them reommened me the new Aria hotel.

  11. Never stayed at the Palms but seems like a really nice hotel and if you are supernova or higher on stars they upgrade you to a suite. Really depends on what you are looking for. If all you are concerned with is being close to the WSOP then cant really go wrong with the Palms because Stars provides a shuttle that isnt really necessary since it is definitely walking distance to the RIO. Also another benefit is that if you are still in after the 12th you dont have to worry about extending your stay because Stars will do that for you.
However if you are concerned with having easy access to everything the Strip has to offer then I would suggest staying at another hotel that is actually on the strip, possibly a Harrah's casino that will provide a free shuttle to the Rio for days you play in the Series. Just took a quick look at hotels.com and you can definitely find places that are decent that you can probably have some money left over from the $1000. Also you could probably do some sort of flight+hotel package and save even more. I would just take a look at a bunch of travel sites (expedia, travelocity, etc) and see what you can find
