I have read FOX's Bankroll management article, and I am just wondering if these guidelines are too loose to follow to try and build a roll that if I had to I could deposit, however I would prefer not.
Current roll:$97.85
LHE:.02/.04 to .05/.10
NLHE: .01/.02
SNG's: $3.40
MTT's: $1.10
1)Should I still play the $1.20 SNGs as opposed to the $3.40s with my bankroll below the 45 - 65 buy in rule even though its less than 5% of my roll?
2)What is the general rule for how much I should buy in at ring games? I usually buy in for between $2 and $3 is that about right?
3)What satelites if any are playable with this roll? -
Looks good to me.
1) I don't understand this question
2) 5% of your roll, so right now $5.
3) Try the $2.20 sattys to the Sunday 200k. 1 of every 5.5 people win a seat. They are good for supplementing a micro roll. Just pile up the T$. -
As far as the 3.4 SNG's go I can tell you I've had some sick variance in them. 2 Wks ago I got 2nd on high orbit lbd (brag). and then next week i played 100 of them and lost nearly 100 bux. The beats were just unreal but I beat the game at about 15-20 percent ROI and if I had only the $100 roll I woulda went busto.

Question 1 I meant I know the general rule is to have atleast 45 to 60 buyins to play a level at a SNG, which I obviously don't have at the $3.40 level. However the $3.40s are only like 3% of my roll.So should I play them since they are such a small % of my bankroll despite not having the X amount of buyins?

Play them man - its easy money - just dont play in mine plz lol

to answer your question about the sattys...they have a 1r to the 55 buy ins...its a non turbo which i dont like and they take about 4 hours to cash but your getting great value...and pokerstars adds 5 seats...thats about the only really cheap satty on this site that is worth it

ok first things first, find your strength... have you played enough hands to have a good set of records to know what games\levels\structures are most profitable for you? if so the next thing is to figure out the most profitable level you can play while reasonably expecting not to bust. This does depend heavily on the games\levels that you are playing and what your strengths are. Are you tight solid player who often blinds down to push\fold poker before everyone else? if so then you want to stay away from the turbo's. If you like a more action oriented style and are comfortable with a push\fold game then the 45 man mtt sng's can be very profitable. No matter what game you decide to play, it is even more important to set a goal and plan for getting there, then stick to it. 99.99 "taking a shot" is just eating your BR. stay on course and eventually you will be playing that higher level game every day. But remember Just because you have more profit in a level\game doesnt mean you can withstand a down swing. Once youve determined how you will build your BR review your progress weekly, and re-evaluate what your doing... if its working, leave it alone till its either not working or you hit your BR goal and its time for the next step. Figure out where your most profitable scores are and review the HH for those games. what did you do right, what did you do wrong? pick a few other games that you didnt cash in at random, review the HH and ask yourself the same questions. MOST importantly WRITE THE ANSWERS DOWN, then you have something to read later as a refresher. I would also recomend taking a few moments after every session and add to your session notes for the day any observations that you might have about your days play. Go back and read those notes from time to time and if you find one thats particularly good put it in a word document that you read before you play, during your play, or if you have noticed that your on a bad run... often its the same leak or at least a similar one. Sorry this so long, I got carried away, hope it helps.
