So I was in the stars Sunday Nightly $11rebuy, a tourney that I've wanted to take down for the past few years. So I've led the tournament for about an hour of the late stages and find myself in 4th of 15. Get it all in on the turn with AK on a AK84 board against my opponents A4 for a gigantic pot and guaranteed huge payday.(keep in mind my biggest cash thus far was $2,500) Anyways the four binks the river and I'm down to 1BB with 15 left, instead of being in 1st and crushing. I kept my composure and got a little run good and came back to be leading the tournament with 10 left and eventually finishing in 4th place for nearly 4k and my biggest score thus far.

Of my recent big scores (3rd/2nd place finishes in ps55$ and ftp26$) in the ftp26 i was down to 1bb in the mid stages of the game and remember folding and looking for a good spot to get my chips in. And in the 55$ i was down to 200 chips after the first hand and stuck with it and grinded a 10bb stack for hours, until i hit a nice run of cards and built a nice stack.
NEver give up. -
thanks all

Nice work, its true never give up. I was in my last tourney of a 8 hr or so session a few days ago, I thought I'll just hang in there to get a min cash at least, was on P5's reading posts whilst tightening up. I was tighter than a submarine door, the bubble burst and I waited for a big hand pushed, yada yada yada, donked HU but came second to a very krafty player! weeeeeeeeee!

I can honestly say that I've never remained as positive and confident throughout a tournament as I did during this one. Maybe I'm finally starting to believe all the post that I've read on here from different pros about the power of positive thinking. I actually said to myself out loud, "This is my tournament". And I just kept those good thoughts in my head as I was navigating through the mid-late stages. Also deep in the tourney I probably drank like 5 bottles of water to keep myself hydrated, and had a healthy meal. I grind all the time and have never once thought about drinking alot of water to stay hydrated and sharp(which seems pretty bad). Usually I'd drink quite a bit of Mt. Dew. Kind of ironic that the one time I drank a ton of water and ate healthy for a specific purpose, I had my biggest score. Hmmmmmmmm

I think what I'll take from this experience is eat healthy. Drink lots of water, instead of the Mt. Dew. And I'm going to play with more confidence and have an extremely positive attitude throughout the tournament until I'm completely out of chips. Pretty sure in the long run this has gotta earn me some dough...... -
