-

-
Hand history please no way is this true
-
oh god here we go again
-
op please go hang yourself.
do you not have anything more productive to do than try to stir up drama?
/thread -
I dont see a big deal with this in the slightest. Unless maybe hes getting rakeback or something, and even then, thats the sites problem not ours.
-
Hand Histories do not save from Bodog tourneys, but anyone can find the completed tourney and see the entrants. My comment really has nothing to do with Sowers; congrats to him on his WSOP.
Its more about Bodog; lately there has been a lot of nonsense at the site and the owners do not seem to care aside from paying occasional lipservice. A good example is multiple accounts; recently a lot of midstakes cash players have opened new accts in spouse/family member names in order to get Rakeback. Bodog says there is no rakeback but google is your friend. Some of these are plainly obv as a player disappears on Mon and the new player shows up on Tues from the same city and plays the exact same style. Some have even announced they have done it on 2+2. Bodog's response; paperworks in order.
The point is that the smaller rooms should be going out of their way right now to set a high standard in light of the AP/UB, final table buyouts, etc. Bodog seems to be going out of their way to create an environment where another scandal is likely. -
so if all you're concerned with is multiple accoutns then why are you trying to drag sowers' name through the mud?

Anyone? shit im playing on there now i have never seen or heard of anything funny other than i came in second in the 15k on thurs {brag}

I think I have an ethical problem with this.
Let's say I played in these tournaments on a regular basis and I kept diligent notes on particular players. Then on a given day it's a completely different person playing under the screen name (no doubt I'm sure there are many people that do this.) At best, it's a form of deception with no malice intended. Anybody else want to chime in before I get firebombed to the stone age?
Note: I'm not trying to hate on anybody and I would prefer to be having this debate without the name of the person who did it in the thread. Clearly I recognize that the person we are talking about could destory me playing poker while he was sleeping.
Edit: I completely believe that there weren't any bad intentions with this, but it doesn't make it right. -
I see nothing wrong with this! Majic find something better to do, this is a non-issue!
other then the fact people are going to take this out of context! -
Letting other people play on accounts in tourneys is OK now???? What about all of the selling of accounts at final tables? Don't be an enabler for this stuff; surely all of the unethical crap of the last 2 years shows exactly what is wrong with this.

you are smarter than this... you know what ppl start insinuating after you open this door? obv I know nothing shady is going on, but ppl love to assume the worst...

lol blow shit out of proportion much?
edit- perportion? porportion? meh
re-edit- in response to majic -
Yeah, probably not a very bright idea.
-
i'm sure ppl had accounts banned for less
-
Yeah, I mean how hard is it for your friend to open an acct and receive a transfer. I'm definitely on the side of "you are an honest guy/no big deal/etc" but as stated in previous posts, this opens a door that does not lead to good places.
-
OP could just PM Sowerss and ask him what happened. To make a thread without asking him first is a way to create a problem where there's none. To think that having a Job Doe playing under a top player account in a single event can be in his advantage is stupid.
Mike is such a great guy, that I can imagine him allowing his friend to give a shot in the tourney, without even think if it was a wrong thing to do. His mind was in other place, not worried about the fact that somebody wanting to have a thread at the front page of PD, would make a deal out of it.
In the other hand: Sowerss, you know you are highly supported at my house, and that we follow your success, but that was a silly move. Now you're gonna have to hear crap for awhile because of it. Like waco said : geeeezz
TC, keep the good job. -
this is totally different than multiaccounting, imo.
multiaccounting is pure cheating.
doing what sowers did is misleading, but not cheating, imo. but i agree w/ waco. -
How is this even an issue? Didn't Annette let someone use her account in the WCOOP and whoever it was made a final table. It wasn't an issue than and shouldn't be now.
-
non issue if u ask me
-
it is a non issue, but something that shouldn't be done so blatantly... I mean the guy is playing at a WSOP FT, his online accounts should not be active IMO
-
And I'm not saying it's a huge issue at all, but it seems like part of poker is learning people's tendencies. People that were playing Sowers/the friend that day, I would have to imagine, reacted differently to his play than they would have to a complete unknown. Considering the murkiness of the overall water concerning multiaccounting, ghosting, buying accounts, etc...it is poor judgement at the very least.

at least i learned something. i had never heard the word doppleganger b4.
