  1. So, unfortunately I'm taking a summer comm. class and for our final we have to give a 6-8 min speech urging action. With all the recent UIEGA news, I thought a speech about online poker would be original and if delivered properly, very moving. So, what I would like to know are how people feel about this? I mean, this has to be a major issue with US citizens (primarily players), since the government is pretty much telling us how (or how not) we're allowed to spend our money. Do you think I can present valid enough info about this to change this ideas of my classmates? Any insight, ideas, and mostly links to published articles would be more than appreciated. I stress publications because I need to have sources and bibliography. Thanks!
  2. i took comm 101 last year (my freshman year) and did my final persuasive speech on this same thing with ~the same amount of time to deliver it

i did well and got an A (brag) and my prof really liked it - i could send u some of the sources i used/my main talking points if i can find my old files
  3. I did the same thing, and got an A. Its a good topic that is def new to alot of people n they will find it interesting.

I focused on the UIEGA, Russ Hammilton cheating scandal, how it needs to be regulated so when people get robbed then actual law enforcement cud step in, and other stuff.

i cud actually send u my notes if u want
  4. i think you could also relate the topic very well to the current economic climate and how new and innovative industries will be needed to lead this country to a better, prosperous future
  5. This is an article by George Will from the Washington Post. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...d=opinionsbox1
  6. I like the part where he talks about how Howard Lederer wants online poker decriminalized because of his "libertarian temperament." Nothing but good, well researched, straightforward articles from George F. Will.

  7. That would be awesome! I was worried that it might make my peers and professor view me as a degen, but the more and more I think it over, the more inspiration I get to do it. Anything u can send would be great! PM me or my AIM SN is phishstalker123
