so heres what happen 16 players left in this event cash at 15 /2 tables left playing hand for hand / ive got qq utg and raise 4x bb with about 30 grand left in chips a player with 100 more chips than me goe s all in from middle position/ while this is happening a player at the other remaining table goes all in and gets knocked out as soon as he gets knocked out he rushs off and leaves// at this point figuring ive secured 15th place money obv call the players all in any how he showes kq spikes a king on the flop and my tourneys over sucks for me right ?/// anyways i go to collect my money from tourney director and he advises me that because myself and another player from another table went all in on the same hand reguardless of of me having more chips at the start of the hand would have to splitt 15th place money which sucks 4 me at this point they page the other player send employees around the casino looking for him and dont find him i wait about a half hour and finally they just give me half of 15 th place money and say if the guy comes back we will give it him then//// what if the guy doesnt comeback then what ??? what should i have done????
ps met some good people at tourney including dabears and annette_15
just wanted to say goodluck to u guys in 2500 buyin and goodluck to dabears at the final table in this one -
WOW that is absolutley ridiculous and never heard of such buffoonery. Its not your responsibility to report for this guys money. After that much time one would assume it should be distributed to you. I have no idea how this casino operates though so GL
-
My comments,
I was there, one seat to your right actually. I think its hilarious that you were considering folding QQ because it was the bubble (really only half a bubble) especially vs the guy that repopped u (online player, been all in a bunch of hands) Quit poker.
You are entitled to half of the 15th place. The other guy is entitled to half of 15th place. There really is no argument here. You shouldn't get the other half just because it wasn't claimed just like if you cashed and randomly died on way to getting your chips, the 14th place finisher doesn't deserve your money. (I'm sure they'd give it to your family) They have that guys name and information and I'm sure they will get him his money.
Turning Stone Casino is great, and this isn't bafoonery. -
I recall a similar situation in the Main Event a few years ago. Two players lost on bubble hand, and the ruling was to split the $11000 or so. But then Harrah's stepped up and gave both the full money for the spot.
But unlike online, there is no real obligation to know how many chips each player has to determine "who was ahead" before the hand. Therefore, two people bubble for one spot, they split that cash. And really, no obligation for them to pay out that money to you just because you are around. I am assuming they knew who it was, and they would hold it forever (or whatever the regulations are). -
If the money is split you dont have any claim on the other half, but I thought the chip counts at the start of the bubble hand would determine 15th and 16th?
-
Sigh,
He was informed of the guys chips EXACTLY, it was all counted out before he made the call.
He was also informed that if they busted on same hand (it was hand for hand) that he would have to split the money with the 15th place finisher if he busted (he had more chips than the 15th place finisher at time of hand, but it didn't matter thats not how TS ran it, on stars they wouldve given the place to person with more chips, thats casino dependent)
Turning Stone handled the situation perfectly as usual.
This post is completely retarded and I'll summarize it for everyone.
"I suck at poker/// I got bad beat on bubble omgah/// I get half moniez wtf/// I met annette though!!! GL///" -
Are you home yet
GTFO -
I think if you are going to play poker for money, you should know the rules of the game.
If you don't know the rules just ask. The floor would be happy to tell you the rule so you could have folded your QQ. LOL -
Yes, I'm fat and have some bad acne.
However, I'm not posting on a male model forum and criticizing casinos!
You are posting on a poker forum, and play 1k tournaments and you are terrible in poker :( I won't be applying for male vogue anytime soon.
Who sucks here? -
You can say it was never a consideration...That doesn't change the fact you waited >2minutes and got an exact count and called tourney director over and everything. If it was never a consideration (it shouldn't be) you should have snap called instead of wasting 2minutes of my life.
-
Maybe he got a count just in case he busted in the hand and wanted to make sure they had accurate chip #'s in the event that they gave money to the person with the higher chip count (which the dont).
That way it would avoid an "I had more chips" argument. There would be no argument anyways, because they don't do it by chips, but he clearly didn't know the rule so he was prob just protecting himself, no biggie. -
"Basis, you didn't snap call QQ there, and criticize casino management when they handled situation fine."
look i am not criticizing turning stone.....
i love turning stone i play there often ....
just asking other people what they would have done in my situation because unlike you i dont know everything about everything ... -
You tanked. You didn't want to bubble despite it being an obvious call. Granted, its a 1k tournament which is a lot of money to most people and nobody likes to bubble. It is hand for hand and other table finished the hand. There was no possible monetary gain by stalling. You were tanking because you were examining the monetary gain/loss from calling or because you were considering folding QQ. Either way, you are still terrible and shouldn't be playing a 1k tournament if either of those are true.
I wasn't going to even respond to this but criticizing turning stone casino when they handled situation perfectly, and is very well run, set me off. If you were the other guy and left the casino and came back the next day and someone told you about you forgetting your money, you would make a post about how TS casino screwed you out of your half of the tourney. You also type with //// as punctuation which makes me annoyed even more by you. Basically, anyone who falsely criticizes good establishments and is terrible at poker shouldn't be allowed to post nonsense on a poker forum, or vote, or talk, or waste 2minutes of my life because he can't snap call QQ on a bubble of a tournament. -
Ok,
I would have snap called QQ, bitched out my friend for making such a donkey resteal (although he woudln't have made that resteal vs me prob because i'm not a weaktight idiot) Taken my half of the 15 and gone up to my room and pop some painkillers or something.
I then would have posted on p5s about how unlucky I am and how it never ends. -
again let me make this clear for u . i am not critscizing turning stone i love turning stone...
2ndly i was never folding qq in this spot and only took the time because i did not know the rule and sure i would rather cash than not but i would never fold qq here if i was worried about bubbling i would not have come in for a raise utg i would have just folded and no one would have ever know i had qq. -
"...i took the time is because i knew there was a all in at the other table and didnt know the rule..."
So why did you still not know the rule when you called? Makes no sense. -
i assumed that because he was knocked out and i had more chips going in to the hand that i had secured 15th place money. why didnt i know the rule i honsestly dont know but i can promise u this much ii will never make trhe same mistake twice........ but regardless it wouldnt have made a diff on my call with the qq here
-
right on.
